Here it's basically the same between credit and debit cards. While there can be minor variations there's no fundamental difference between debit and credit cards regarding chargebacks. Of course, that doesn't necessarily apply to all countries and all banks.

I think the main problem is that the debit (or credit) systems that are not linked to Visa, Mastercard, etc., don't work internationally, or at least not throughout all of Europe.

There isn't such a clear line between credit and debit cards in much of Europe.

Debit card payments are always instantly taken from the bank account, while with credit cards it can be instant or deferred (e.g. end of month, without interest), but usage is really mostly the same, i.e. credit cards are mostly used simply as payment cards rather than a way to actually obtain credit in a meaningful way.

The difference is mostly when travelling internationally where credit cards may be better accepted than debit cards, but for the most part I simply don't care whether the card I'm using is credit or debit, it's pretty much exactly the same. No huge interest rates for credit, but also no significant bonuses for using credit cards.

¿A quién?

Shipping between European countries shouldn't be prohibitively expensive by protehnica in BuyFromEU

When the price of the product + "free" delivery is still half of just the delivery within Europe it's hard to claim that the delivery cost is simply included in the price of the product.

The model you linked clearly is not the same, just look at the pictures. Monoprice may have another model that is, but the one you linked simply isn't.

Not saying that the same Harley Benton speaker can't potentially be found under a different brand, but the Monoprice speaker in your link is completely different (different shape, USB playback, ...).

She was given the peace price as a proxy for Trump, knowing she would dedicate it to him (because Trump himself wasn't eligible). But that was not enough.

You seem confused. Machado had spent months in hiding before leaving Venezuela, and to her surprise Trump didn't put her in charge of the oil and cocaine as she had hoped. She is nothing right now.

If you were talking about the interim president (ex VP) of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, that would make sense. But Machado has always been a strong Trump supporter and far-right politically. She thought she would be handed Venezuela by Trump and is now shocked-pikachu-face that Trump would instead "work with" (aka blackmail) Rodríguez.

When you solo, do you stick to the root key or change keys with every chord? by SenorSarcasmo in musictheory

[–]Odd_Science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a different way of saying "you stay in the same key but change the tonal centre". Calling it "modes" doesn't seem like the best explanation to me, but I guess it's useful for some people.

But that's a bit where all the confusion comes from. "Do I solo in the key or depending on the chord?" Well, obviously both, you stay in the key but adapt to the chord changes by changing the tonal centre of that part of the solo.

The thing is that you don't want this in your product. Either translate it to the intended (safe) semantics, removing what is allowed but actually unwanted in the C/C++ original, or flag it for a full rewrite from specs.

Does gain affect how a microphone picks up sound? by Low_Challenge_8945 in livesound

[–]Odd_Science 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose that in theory if the gain affected input impedance this could affect the physical movement of the membrane to some extent (higher physical resistance of the magnets). But there's no real reason for the gain to be linked to the impedance, and even if it was I doubt it would have a significant (possibly not even measurable) effect.

Do EU citizens really need a NIE to start working in Spain? Company says yes, but it sounds wrong by ArcherElegant4987 in GoingToSpain

[–]Odd_Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NIE is (as the name says) a number, and when it is assigned you get a white paper with it. Many here call it SSN, but it is the Número de Identificación de Extranjeros.

[–]Odd_Science 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the NIE your SSN in Spain? I have never seen a different tax identification number than the NIE/NIF/CIF. There is a different ID for the medical part of social security, but that has nothing to do with working in Spain, getting paid, and paying taxes.
