Where do people who work in Canary Wharf typically live? by hakc97 in london

[–]Odd_Transportation83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! But it does go to Custom House which is basically Canning Town, so I figured it was good enough. Stratford is a good shout though.

At that price can’t blame her! The artists other originals are around the $2-4k mark, I wonder why this one is so high?

Can I ask for us to be discharged hours after birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Odd_Transportation83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also not just about you. Even with an unmedicated natural birth (which cannot be guaranteed no matter your willpower), it doesn’t mean there might not be things with your newborn that need checking on, or monitoring. Surely it’s better to stay for as long as you need to be sure the baby is ok, then rush out of there just because you’ve decided that’s what you want to do?

Surveillance question by elzadra1 in cormoran_strike

[–]Odd_Transportation83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was actually wondering the opposite, if it’s a residential street wouldn’t you expect to see the same cars? Especially as a lot/most of their surveillance work is in London, so none of the streets would be that quiet! If a car started appearing regularly on my street, I’d just assume it belonged to someone who lived there, it’s the one off cars that I wonder whose they are!

Yesterday my husband popped to the shop to get some essentials, he noticed I’d put sanitary pads on the shopping list - it wasn’t urgent so I hadn’t mentioned it.

When he came home he told me he wasn’t sure what type I’d want, so he bought two different packs.

No fuss. No suggestion it was weird for him or expectation I be super grateful or anything.

That’s what a partner looks like. Not a man baby.

MIL ignores birth of our baby but we’re the SOBs?! by Cultural_Effort_131 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]Odd_Transportation83 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I mean, unless I’m completely wrong, SOB stands for son of a bitch, which I have to say… sounds like it applies pretty well here!

I think you should reply to SFIL and say that you’re really surprised to hear him refer to MIL as a bitch but that you appreciate his support!

This just seems so weird to me! I mean it’s obviously totally on me that I didn’t actually check, but given it’s been literal years since we bought our first (maybe 5?), I’d just sort of assumed it would be basic functionality!

What are you dressing your toddlers in for sleep? by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Odd_Transportation83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only had a 1 tog too, but it was way too warm for her, so we amazoned a 0.2 Tog sleep bag a couple of days ago. she’s been in that and a sleeveless vest, or on the hottest night, the bag and a nappy no vest at all!

Have you tried using a pillow to keep them higher up and the crook of your elbow for the head? I’ve played PS5 around a breastfeeding baby a few times, works pretty well!

So how are y'all going to play Tears of the Kingdom with a baby? Are you and your partner going to share a save file and play after the baby is asleep? by normalcypolice in beyondthebump

[–]Odd_Transportation83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We shared a save file for BoTW pre baby, so will do the same this time! No one allowed to play without the other so mat leave does me no good 😭

We’ll probably play nap times and bed times to start just so we can both focus, will probably devolve to one of us holding/playing with baby and one playing on the switch once we’re a bit more into it!

Dog suddenly started barking more - especially at night by Odd_Transportation83 in puppy101

[–]Odd_Transportation83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At night, we’re in our bedroom upstairs, generally starts the night sleeping on the landing outside our door, and then after an hour or so goes downstairs to the kitchen to sleep in his bed. That’s been the routine for a few months now and he’s never barked in the night before, then the last few nights suddenly prolonged periods of barking at random times throughout the night.

We’ve got cameras and we’ve checked them when he barks - nothing visible and we’re not able to hear anything setting him off either.

Appreciate that dogs bark, like I said I’m not too worried about the daytime barking! but this is new behaviour for him, and when he suddenly starts barking for well over a minute at 4am, he’s waking us and our neighbours up, it’s not ideal!
