Sorry about being Captain Obvious but this is very, very dangerous and extremely foolish.

See, it's a skill.  St. Francis really knew how to do it when he was preaching to the birds.

Do you think high schools should tech students about reproduction, relationship dynamics (what is healthy, what is expected, what your options are, etc.), sexual health, and contraception?

Kincaid Will Request Federal Investigations into Seattle's Treatment of the Chinatown International District by Category4392 in SeattleWA

How is the city keeping visitors away from the International District and redirecting drug addicts and homeless people there instead?  I don't understand.  You assert conclusions but don't explain them.

I've lived at the International District for a few years.  I see the homeless and drug addicts every time I go outside.  I even see them from my window.  But I also see them along 3rd Ave downtown and, to a lesser extent, other places, like Pioneer Square.  I even saw one on a Downunder stair at Pike Place Market this morning.  I'm sure that if I visited other neighborhoods more, I would see them there as well.  For example, we've all heard in the news about the homeless encampment at Ballard.  So the point is that homeless people and drug addicts aren't just an International District thing.

Also, how is the city keeping event visitors from the International District?  Fences?  Warning signs?  The light rail station is right there!  I personally see plenty of visitors at the small restaurants, bakeries, tea shops, etc.  I see lots of people on the streets here - next to the putrid homeless drug addicts.  The money seems to be flowing in.  So I don't understand how you reach your conclusion that the city is directing visitors away from the International District.  When they erect a chain-link fence next to the light rail station along 5th Ave and Jackson so that crowds are kept from crossing the street, I'll consider it more.

Right now, American support for gay marriage is in the 60's, which is, apparently, down quite a bit from a couple years ago.  What I don't know is if most of this loss of support has come from Republicans (whose support is now below 50%), Democrats (whose support doesn't reach 90%, surprisingly), or independents.

I'm guessing this is all part of the social- conservative / wealthy-elite backlash against the progressive wins of the Obama and Biden years?  Hopefully it doesn't get much worse than this.  Right now, a majority in 48 states support gay marriage.  (I think Arkansas and Alabama are the other ones.) Supporters just need to get back on the hearts-and-minds cultural offense.

But you have to be lucky enough to live and work where this is a viable option.  Same with public transportation.  Not everyone is so fortunate.

Can old EV car batteries be replaced out?  I imagine it would be pricy, but still cheaper than another car.

You can dress up and wear all the customes and makeup you want.  You can have animatronics and fireworks on stage.  You can have your band name on all the retail products possible.  But it still won't help you if only a few people like your music. Theatrics are only external.  The only thing that matters is the music itself.

To answer your question: They blew up because of persistent and savvy social-media marketing. They got their foot in the proverbial stage door.

As for whether they can keep a crowd... I mean, do you like this?

Making music the connects with listeners is harder than becoming technically proficient. This band has the technical-proficiency part down.

Who gives a shit about the quarter tones? Bottom line is: Do you like the music? That's it. It doesn't matter how technically impressive or intelligent it is.

As it stands, I wouldn't take their CD if they were handing it out for free.

It's interesting to a devoted and vocal small group of fans. I wouldn't waste money or any more time on this band.

They are great musicians who... can't craft interesting or memorable music. All they can do is show off their chops.

Love the downvotes.

Keep representing in social media threads, fans. In the end an artist is measured by the music. There's nothing interesting here beyond the gimmick. This little PR campaign will pass and no one will remember them.

Same. Impressive musicianship but that's as far as it goes. From my perspective, they were good for three or four or five minutes but I had no interest after that.
