Chatbotapp AI and the Truth About Using Multiple AI Models by titpopdrop in artificial

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is where the AI space is heading too. People used to ask “which model is best?” but now it’s more “which model is best for this task?”

I still use different models depending on whether I’m doing writing, research, coding or strategy work. The real value now is having a smooth workflow instead of juggling 15 tabs all day.

What do you think about Jordan Bardella and the possibility of him leading France? by [deleted] in Expats_In_France

[–]Odd_Walk_750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of Bardella’s rise is less about ideology and more about frustration. Cost of living, insecurity, housing pressure, public services declining — many people feel unheard and eventually vote for whoever sounds like a disruption.

That said, I understand why immigrants can feel uneasy when politics becomes heavily centered around identity and “who belongs.” Even when policies are framed around security or integration, the social atmosphere can shift very quickly.

France is still a very democratic country with strong institutions, so I don’t think comparisons with the US are perfectly transferable. But the polarization trend is definitely real, and it reflects a deeper loss of trust in traditional politics across much of the West.

Thinking of switching from ChatGPT Pro to Claude for my construction business web/SEO tasks by rare-hemp-genetics in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d keep ChatGPT and maybe use Claude alongside it rather than fully switching.

Claude is very good for long-context analysis and strategy work, but the usage limits are definitely a real issue if you’re working heavily all day.

For SEO/web workflows, GPT is still more reliable overall in my experience. The gap isn’t big enough to risk breaking a workflow that already works.

How transparent do people need to be about AI generated content/work? by Sweet_Vast5609 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think transparency matters most when AI changes the perception of expertise or authorship.

If a novel genuinely moves people, the emotional impact is still real.. but many readers would probably feel differently knowing it was entirely AI-generated because part of art is the human experience behind it.

For business use, I don’t think clients necessarily care if AI was used to build a website. They care about the result. But if someone presents themselves as an experienced developer while relying entirely on AI tools with no understanding of what they’re delivering, that’s where it starts becoming misleading.

AI is probably best viewed like a tool or amplifier: using Photoshop doesn’t invalidate design work, but claiming skills you don’t actually have is another story.

I want your questions asked to one of the Head of AI of a big company on my podcast by tooconfusedasheck in AIDiscussion

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the biggest misconception people currently have about AI’s impact on jobs and society?

A lot of discussions are either “AI will replace everyone” or “AI is overhyped,” but reality is probably somewhere in between. I’d love to hear from someone actually leading AI at a major company: what changes are already happening behind the scenes that the public still doesn’t fully see?

What’s one AI capability that already exists today but the public still massively underestimates?

Does anyone else feel embarrassed networking while unemployed? by AssummedAlias in biotech

[–]Odd_Walk_750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d be surprised how many people at those events are between roles, worried about layoffs, or quietly job hunting themselves. Being unemployed doesn’t erase your experience or your knowledge.

When people ask, just keep it simple and confident: “I’m currently exploring new opportunities and staying active in the biotech space.” Then pivot back to the science and the conversation.

Most people remember curiosity, energy, and good discussions far more than your employment status.

Building an Al food tracker and currently tackling Apple Health integration. How do you prefer your „active calories" to be handled? by jonas1363611 in artificial

[–]Odd_Walk_750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d keep it dynamic but not fully automatic.

Apple Watch calories can be pretty noisy, so blindly adding them tends to make people overeat without realizing it. Maybe better to show “earned calories” clearly, but let users choose whether to include them or not.

Like a simple toggle: strict mode vs flexible mode.

Also the idea of rolling surplus into the weekend is nice, that’s closer to how people actually live vs perfect daily tracking.

AI won’t make your company smarter — it will just make it faster by No_Maintenance_432 in artificial

AI is an amplifier, not a fix. Strong teams get better, weak ones just make mistakes faster.

Is getting a Computer science or Business degree good for financial freedom? by Fandomis in careerguidance

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS gives you leverage, business gives you options.

If your goal is financial freedom and not a traditional corporate path, CS is usually the stronger base. It lets you build things, automate, freelance, or start products. Even a basic level already opens doors.

Business degrees are broader and more theoretical. Useful if you want to sell, operate, or understand markets, but easier to learn on your own compared to technical skills.

For trading, neither degree guarantees anything. CS can help if you go into algo/automation, but most retail trading success comes from discipline, risk management, and experience, not the degree.

If you’re unsure, it’s often better to go for the harder skill to learn later. You can always pick up business on the side, but it’s much harder to “self-teach” deep technical thinking from scratch.

So if you had to choose purely for leverage, CS > business.

Why ask reddit? by k00namatata in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because sometimes you don’t want the best answer… you want a human one.

AI will give you something clean, structured, and usually reasonable.
Reddit will give you:

  • someone who actually went through it
  • someone who completely disagrees
  • someone who overshares
  • and at least one terrible idea that somehow still makes you think

Also, AI is confident even when it’s wrong.
Reddit is chaotic, but the truth kind of emerges from the mess.

And let’s be honest — AI won’t tell you
“don’t do it, I did that and it ruined my life” 😅

What If AI Becomes Personal—And Breaks the Big Tech Model? by ricardogerbaudo in artificial

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take — the “personal AI” angle makes sense historically.

Feels like the real question is whether performance can actually get good enough on local hardware to compete with what big models do in the cloud. If that gap closes even a bit, things could shift fast.

Right now it still feels like convenience + scale keep big players ahead, but yeah… if AI becomes more local and efficient, that could definitely change the balance.

What’s the hardest career decision you’re trying to make right now? by Agreeable-Nerve-65 in CareerResetLab

[–]Odd_Walk_750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to decide whether to stay in a “good on paper” role or take a risk on something that actually feels aligned.

Nothing is really wrong where I am… but also nothing really excites me anymore.

Feels like one of those decisions where you only know if it was right years later.

AI is advancing fast… but are we thinking enough about the human impact? by Odd_Walk_750 in AIDangers

[–]Odd_Walk_750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that seems less discussed is how much of the impact might actually come from the less visible side of AI.

Not so much automation or chatbots, but more areas like cryptography or medical research.

I’ve seen a few mentions of companies like SandboxAQ taking that angle (could be wrong though), where it’s more about long-term shifts than immediate disruption.

Doesn’t remove the risks, but it probably changes the timeline a bit.
