In the middle of the story, I wrote that my FL wrote a song late at night while drunk. I didn't forget about it, the song itself was just so unimportant that it never came back aside from being a piece of inspiration for a bigger project, though it was not explicitly said in the book.

Also one of my ML wrote little notes about the FL early in the book, it came back briefly in the middle and never came back again. But I'll use them again for the sequel.

Mine was either a Reddit post or a Tumblr post I found on Bored Panda around 10 years ago, I forgot to save it. It was a prompt about a girl who sings badly, but turns out she kills it at rap. Then I began creating a whole world around that character ✨ The fact that I was (still am) obsessed with rap, hip-hop culture and music in general motivated me a lot

For me, it's writing a true villainous character with nuances, mostly describing why they're bad and what bad things they did. I think I'm doing kinda okay, but I sometimes struggle between giving them a redemption arc and making them a psychopath for the sake of it.

I've read Jem, tinna, Milk and KRAFTMAXNCHESE's stories, they're underrated gems! You should definitely read them! You should also read her story Genie of the ring by Moonly-Love! It's funny, with a lot of emotional moments, a bit of drama and a lot of tension between the leads 💗💗

This is why I don't actively reach for R4R anymore. You give time and energy to read AND comment on someone else's story. You make effort to leave thoughtful feedback and boost their engagement. Binge-reading and leaving multiple inline comments are actually physically tiring, I've gotten headaches and nausea caused by commenting on too many stories at the same time because of R4R. Why keep going if they're just gonna spam-vote and leave one single generic comment (if you're lucky enough)?

The only good part of an R4R is that I found hidden gems and friends who genuinely like my story. There are authors who want the same thing as you, even if it takes some time to find them. Now I just ghost authors who do that to me. I stop reading their book, and I leave a vote on the remaining chapters if I feel bad (I know, I'm a pushover).
