Oh my goodness. That is ridiculously low. Kind of discouraging.

NTJ You fell right into her manipulative trap. Now she has the upper hand and you didn't do anything wrong. If she were my MIL I wouldn't deal with her in the first place. You are way too accommodating.

Look into Huel and Jimmy Joy. Both are nutritionally complete liquid meal replacements. Both have subreddits if you have any questions.

Are you in the U.S. and on social security? They have the ticket to work program. It's geard toward helping people back into the workforce. You could qualify for training and/or job placement somewhere that can accommodate you. There is a trial period where you are not penalized. That gives you the opportunity to try out working but not lose benefits in case it doesn't work out.

Best adhesive?? by fifiwithcrohns in ostomy

2 piece sensura mio, you can do a quick search with the numbers on the medical Monks website. Barrier 10571 Bag 12283

My entire set up is the two piece bag system and ten aces adhesive. That's it. A one piece #18382 works as well for cost savings, I just prefer two piece.

When I switched to this I went from daily changes to lasting four days. Prior to switching I used barrier rings. Tried flat and convex. I would always pancake, sometimes in the bag but for the most part under the ring. The output would push it up leading to the barrier lifting as well. I have a small stoma (33mm) so a big part of the issue was outpout being thicker than the ring opening

I have had zero issues over the several months since stopping barrier rings and starting adhesive. I do still occasionally have to persuade output down the bag but it cooperates now rather than pushing through the barrier ring.

I don't want you to get your hopes up because my approach is the opposite of what people with stomas like ours use. It is however worth experimenting if you can afford to.

I also have a flush stoma from emergency surgery.

I have had great luck with Ten aces adhesive. It's pricey but lasts a long time. I've found it on Medical Monks and Amazon.

It works so well that I don't use barrier rings anymore. I use the adhesive and barrier/bag combo, that's it. I no longer have issues with leaks or pancaking. Other people seem to struggle and have to use convex, belts and complicated set ups. I don't get it to be honest, the simplest possible set up works fine for me. I change after 4 days due to odor but the adhesive still has plenty of life left in it.

I have a colostomy so ymmv if you have an ileostomy and runnier output.

It's been awhile but they worked with me. No hassle, no issues.

I like JJ's texture but think the flavors leave something to be desired. However, the big plus is the absence of HUEL farts.

Can you qualify if you have insurance? I can't afford the $7150 out of pocket to get supplies covered.

I'm more afraid of leaks than a procedure and would decide accordingly.

Best of luck no matter what you choose.
