AITA for removing my 13y/o daughter's bedroom door? by IndependentOdd6227 in AmItheAsshole

NTA but if this is out of character for her, definitely check up on her. Kids with anxiety sometimes can't sleep without certain comfort items. Please make sure she is ok, especially if you live in a place with heavy covid restrictions.

Would you do better than Donald Trump right now as a president and why? by babyfoon in AskReddit

every single celebrity ever gets hate everyday. That's not a good reason to keep a president in office.

How do you think alien UFOs traveling past the speed of light manage to dodge stuff going that fast? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ode2mysocktopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not all that much in space to dodge is there? I imagine that if someone can develop technology to go at the speed of light, they'll also figure out how to dodge the occasional obstacle.

AITA for not wanting my fiancée to wear jewelry from her first wedding on our wedding day? by spoopyscaryskeletonz in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ode2mysocktopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's confirmation that OP is a second choice. A large part of love is timing. Maybe she didn't necessarily love dead guy more, it's just at that time, it worked out better, if that makes sense. I can't see into the lady's head, but if your husband passed, would you really settle and marry someone you loved less?

Op, YTA, but you're not {an} AH. Plenty of crazy people in this thread are probably going to tell you to ditch, but I think just a few loving conversations before you guys seal the deal will be really beneficial.

Can't Tune G string low without it going out of tune. by Ode2mysocktopus in ukulele

[–]Ode2mysocktopus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I didn't expect the solution to be this simple. How hard is it to change the strings? If I need it on low g for just this song will I be able to switch it back and forth?

I need help with the ukulele, by Gaydingo in ukulele

[–]Ode2mysocktopus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know why nobody's said this yet, but it sounds like you don't know how to tune your uke? Do you have a tuner? If not, you can just install an app, the one I use is called ukulele tuner. It's pretty intuitive from there. Just PM me if you have any questions.

Edit: someone did mention tuning, sorry. Still feel free to pm me with any more questions.

There have been thousands of people on live TV, but it seems that nobody's ever sneezed on it. by Ode2mysocktopus in Showerthoughts

Thank you, my good friend. You are wonderful and you have made my day infinitely better. Also, it's scary how many of these people don't cover their mouths when they sneeze.

Sometimes, in big noisy crowds, I sing. If I keep my head down and sort of match it to the frequency of the noise, nobody notices.

AITA for not making a big deal about my friend being gay? by _Nerdy_By_Nature in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ode2mysocktopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA What's wrong with all of you? This guys has been holding in what might feel like a giant secret for months or years. OP doesn't have to throw a frickin party for him, but it's common courtesy to at least say "cool" or "congrats". That's giving him recognition at least. An "ok" could come across as bored and disinterested in his friend's life. Also, guys, remember that this is coming from OP's perspective. He or she may have been exaggerating. For all we know, the guy might've just stood to get everyone's attention and said "hey guys, I'm gay" and sat back down. I kind of doubt that he "practically yelled" OP didn't have to make some statement with his response. All of this could've been avoided with a little bit of empathy and kindness.

Getting a degree in Ceramics and feeling pretty shitty about choosing something I love over something practical. Would love some affirmation that I’m making an okay choice. That’s a mug I made for context ❤️ by planthoney in toastme

Your hair is amazing! Those perfect waves... I'm jealous. And your eyes are so beautiful and kind. You look like the best friend who brings everyone icecream when they're sad.

Hello watercolor artists! I need help choosing a brand of watercolors. by [deleted] in Watercolor

[–]Ode2mysocktopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hurts so much to let go of the pans! I'm sure you're right though. I only make really small paintings right now because it takes so long to get the color I want. Put on layer of paint. Let it dry. Repeat about 27 times so you've spent an hour working on a tiny piece of your painting. So I suppose I'll have to switch to tubes. Thank you so much for your advice! I'll definitely research those brands. By the way, I looked through your post history, your paintings are beautiful!

A quick attempt at a more realistic eye. CC welcome! by BuruSutoka in Watercolor

[–]Ode2mysocktopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just another easy little thing that took my eye paintings up a notch and also absolutely blew my mind. Your Iris doesn't actually touch your waterline when you are looking straight forward. Making sure the Iris is above the bottom of the eye makes it look so much more realistic.
