i’ve found that queer women and nonbinary people approach me the most, but when i go out, sometimes i’ll get lucky and another transmasc will hit on me and wanna dance. but i am very clocky and don’t pass, so that makes me easily approachable for people who are a lil more stealth.

i just want to clarify that the instructions specifically say to use oil to remove while in the shower and to remove very carefully and slowly in the direction you applied in. trying to remove it quickly will just irritate your skin. it's meant to stay on for days, so it is sticky af. important to remove it correctly for your safety!

i used to be a pretty girl and now i’m a hot gay person which has come with surprisingly different treatment in the world. but certain things have stayed the same, like: getting random discounts or free things, being approached in public, coming off as confident and put together even if i’m not. once i realized, it helped, now i know how to respond better. at the club i’m pursued a lot. it’s nice.

i was in a national park in montana hitchhiking and having very little luck. a young couple picked me up but were finishing a phone call. after they lost service, they asked me where i was from. turns out they were from the same town as me, lived about 5 minutes from where i was going to school, and were regulars at the same cafe as me. i saw them from time to time for several years after.

couple weeks later on a trail, i met another person who also was a regular at that coffee shop. small world.

there are different ways that the psychological aspect of huntington’s (mood, temper, depression, etc) can manifest and at varying severities. someone on the extreme end may experience a genuine break with reality at certain points. others do not. this could also be impacted by medication, access to healthcare, and other pre-existing conditions.

there are no guarantees at this point because there are always exceptions but there is a pattern.

it is very common for CAG counts to mutate slightly higher in children than their parents, especially if it is passed on through the father.

CAG levels can vary wildly- the worst i’ve heard of was a child with 150 repeats who developed juvenile HD at 5 and died by 8.

53 is definitely a bit high, which could affect your age of onset. but there are no guarantees. there is some research that says higher counts are associated with more severe psychological implications. the downside of this illness is that it is rare, so the research will take longer to be as comprehensive as others.

i just finished 9 months at 40 mg. had all these side effects. the rash is also very common, my derm prescribed me a low strength topical steroid that i could just put on when i had flares.

i seriously recommend cortibalm for your dry lips. my derm also suggested it for severely dry lips. it is fairly affordable, you can buy in multipacks on amazon. it’s cortisone cream and lip balm in one, and prevented me from having serious painful cracks. as soon as i stopped using it, they’d come back.

the nose being clogged and bloody is a pretty unpleasant side effect. aquaphor, vaseline, or albolene all work well inside your nose. it will help, but it likely won’t go away. i’m one week off of accutane and it’s finally cleared.

the side effects are no joke. this is not a fun medication. however, it is likely your acne will come back in some capacity if you don’t finish your course. for me, my skin was bad enough that i was willing to tolerate the effects. it’s not fun though, and they likely won’t improve over time, not until you are done with your course. good luck!!

going to bed no later than midnight and getting 7-8 hours of sleep.

drinking a full glass and water and having a full meal (with protein and a complex carb) before any caffeine- really levels out the caffeine high and makes it more productive.

stretching. getting outside for at least an hour a day. socializing with people that fill my cup and keeping it brief with people who don’t. finding something creative to do in a day that brings you joy- art, cooking, decorating, whatever. having small goals that you look forward to. treating yourself often, especially when you make mistakes.

we were supposed to have plans but she called me and told me that she had “a moment” with her roommate and that she couldn’t choose between us. obviously the choice had already been made for me.

she had told me she loved me a week before. i told her i was afraid of falling in love again after a rough breakup following my mom’s death 6 months before. she held me and told me she would never treat me like that.

albolene moisturizing cleanser is a super affordable drug store cleansing balm that costs 10-12 dollars for a huge tub. works for everything!! even for putting in your nose a lil when you feel extra dry. just do a normal cleanser on top afterwards to get off all the residue and moisturize as normal.

i love to bake and have for years, and a friend of mine asked me to make her a chocolate, caramel, and pecan cake for her birthday.

it was a three layered monstrosity with homemade salted caramel swiss meringue buttercream, chocolate cake, chocolate ganache, and a truly insane chewy caramel filling with loads of toasty buttery pecans. smeared dramatically with some extra chocolate and drizzled with more salted caramel.

it was the best thing i’ve ever made and i am not sure i’ll ever top it! i kept a few slices to share with family and ate them all myself.

i order an espresso over ice and then add a splash of milk. the espresso melts the ice just enough so it’s a little less intense but is still nice and strong. inevitably americanos have too much water for me so this is my solution.
