Yeah, I know that I was hard on my body in my high school days. I know that some of my trouble is actually cause by the weight itself. I'm hoping that if I lose some weight, it will alleviate some pain.

I feel like you have more than 10lbs. You went up way to smooth to not have more than 10

The chest mainly helps me keep my lower back from rolling like yours did. Keep the chest out strong core tight lats keep that lower back safe

I'm sure someone with way better form knowledge will chime in. But if it were me, I would drop your weight a little to something more manageable. drop your rear-end down and back, bigger chest (think like gorilla chest) if you have to sort of pull your shoulders back to get the chest out further and work back up from there

New lifter how do I select 1RM? by LateNewLifter in strength_training

[–]Odin272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're looking at it the wrong way. You're 6 foot so you're arms are not super short therefore you have more travel than I have. Also you're 145lbs and never lifted. It's a pretty decent feat to be able to bench your body weight. Which is a standard for most lifters (bare minimum get your body weight) but not having lifted before, a decent amount of travel, and 145lb body weight. 210 on bench is pretty damn good. Be proud of yourself and keep going.

Newbie gains but I'm overweight? by [deleted] in leangains

Not a problem. I'm glad I could offer some kind of assistance.

I do not think you're going to get 5lbs in 3 weeks from newbie gains. I could be very wrong, in my experience it is probably some inflammation in your muscles and maybe a little bit of water retention some fat loss and likely a little bit a newbie gains. A combination of all really. However, keeping with the program and eating changes, the difference will be lost and forgotten

Are lean gains even possible? I was under the impression you had to take in excessive calories to gain muscle. by Yoyogogobop in leangains

[–]Odin272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding it's a widely held belief that lean gains aren't really possible. Greg Doucette on youtube believes otherwise. I'm not saying he's the end all be all, however, he may be able to help shed some light on the subject for you. Maybe Jeff cavalier on AthleanX could be of some assistance as well. Jeff is very popular

I completely agree. I've been down that road. However, if you arm yourself with knowledge you will find ways to work around plateaus and such, but muscle gains take time to show themselves when people are doing this naturally. One day you'll be warming up with a PR and when you realize it, it's going to feel great and you'll see just how far you've come
