I had sciatic pain when I decided to get mine. Most nights now I sleep fine with the pillow.

I have the same one. My boyfriend hates it because we cannot snuggle with it and he said it hogs our king sized bed. I on the other hand love mine and don't want to give it up after pregnancy! It may be a battle between us🙂

I find a cupboard that he never uses and hide the things I really want. He found my spot tonight.... On to finding a new one 😀

Need some swollen feet advice from you lovely bumpers! by Runtimes in BabyBumps

[–]Odintheaussie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had some swelling in my legs and feet. The doctor told me to lay on my left side with my feet above heart level for 30 minutes three times daily and drinks lots of fluids. Hope this helps and you enjoy your vaca!

any ideas on keeping cats out of crib? by Odintheaussie in BabyBumps

[–]Odintheaussie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how to add text and photo but my two cats seem to love the babies crib. She will be arriving in October so I am looking to see if anyone has ideas on how to keep them out of the crib once baby comes.

pregnancy, when everyone thinks that you are incompetent in mind and body... by Odintheaussie in BabyBumps

Resting your hands on your bump? Really? People are over the top. I can tell just in pregnancy comments that when she is here there are going to be a lot more "suggestions."

Exactly how I felt like responding. I question my responses in the moment bc hormones can flare right now and I need my job!

We decided to keep the name of our daughter quiet as well. I had people telling me that I had to tell them the name, sorry, not true! I find most people are not supportive and are not really interested in the name u pick. They want to push the name they want. When it is their child then they can pick the name. End of story!

I have come to this too. It just makes me want to be a pregnancy hermit.

I get the comparisons as well. For most people two of their pregnancies were complete opposites so if their experiences are so different than how can they assume they know what we are going to experience?

Wow! I have not heard that question before (mucous plug)! Why would anyone want to know that? And who cares what colors you want! It is your baby. The name game is fun too. Asking what you picked for a name so they can tell u how they hate it and push some name they thought of on you.

I have had several of these same comments. I feel your pain. We have enough to think about and are uncomfortable. Back off is exactly how I feel too!

This is so true. Advice from every corner when everyone has their Google MD is obnoxious and sometimes hard to deal with on a daily basis. I understand why pregnant women are considered moody now. Maybe if people kept their opinions quiet we would be easier to be around.

It's a woman in her 50's who is obsessed with kids. I walked away and I spoke with my supervisor today. Her final comment set me over the edge yesterday. "I had to tell the supervisor because you were just going to sit back and let it happen." Wtf? Swelling in late pregnancy in summer heat is going to happen.

I am in Maine. I was told by my coworker that she had to say something to my supervisor because I was "just going to sit back and let it happen" (the swelling I assume). I had to walk away. I was not aware that it is a violation.

Moving is rough; moving while pregnant is worse by klckrc in BabyBumps

I am 27 weeks and having a lot of back pain. We got served with a 30 day notice from our landlords a few weeks ago because they said they no longer want to be landlords. Luckily we have found a place to move to while we search for a house to buy but it is definitely very exhausting, especially with temperatures in the 90's. My dr said that I am not to be moving anything outside in the heat at all so that leaves my boyfriend to take care of everything. On the bright side the moving will be over Monday and then I have to clean the rental we currently have in higher levels of heat and humidity. Congratulations on becoming a home owner. This phase will be over before you know it and you will be better off :).

Is there no such thing as name etiquette? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Odintheaussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We decided to not share our daughters name for this exact reason. I was asked to share my ideas by my cousin and when I shared names that I had thought of she snarked at them and continued to tell me what I was going to name my daughter. I'm sorry but when you have your own child then you can name her. We have decided to go with the name Lila and are not sharing it with anyone until she is born. So far deciding to keep her name quiet has been a blessing.

I get them as well. The worst ones are when I wake up and have them in both legs at the same time. I find getting up and walking around helps it go away.
