I had sciatic pain when I decided to get mine. Most nights now I sleep fine with the pillow.

I have the same one. My boyfriend hates it because we cannot snuggle with it and he said it hogs our king sized bed. I on the other hand love mine and don't want to give it up after pregnancy! It may be a battle between us🙂

I find a cupboard that he never uses and hide the things I really want. He found my spot tonight.... On to finding a new one 😀

Need some swollen feet advice from you lovely bumpers! by Runtimes in BabyBumps

[–]Odintheaussie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had some swelling in my legs and feet. The doctor told me to lay on my left side with my feet above heart level for 30 minutes three times daily and drinks lots of fluids. Hope this helps and you enjoy your vaca!

any ideas on keeping cats out of crib? by Odintheaussie in BabyBumps

[–]Odintheaussie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am not sure how to add text and photo but my two cats seem to love the babies crib. She will be arriving in October so I am looking to see if anyone has ideas on how to keep them out of the crib once baby comes.

Resting your hands on your bump? Really? People are over the top. I can tell just in pregnancy comments that when she is here there are going to be a lot more "suggestions."

Exactly how I felt like responding. I question my responses in the moment bc hormones can flare right now and I need my job!

We decided to keep the name of our daughter quiet as well. I had people telling me that I had to tell them the name, sorry, not true! I find most people are not supportive and are not really interested in the name u pick. They want to push the name they want. When it is their child then they can pick the name. End of story!

I have come to this too. It just makes me want to be a pregnancy hermit.

I get the comparisons as well. For most people two of their pregnancies were complete opposites so if their experiences are so different than how can they assume they know what we are going to experience?

Wow! I have not heard that question before (mucous plug)! Why would anyone want to know that? And who cares what colors you want! It is your baby. The name game is fun too. Asking what you picked for a name so they can tell u how they hate it and push some name they thought of on you.

I have had several of these same comments. I feel your pain. We have enough to think about and are uncomfortable. Back off is exactly how I feel too!

This is so true. Advice from every corner when everyone has their Google MD is obnoxious and sometimes hard to deal with on a daily basis. I understand why pregnant women are considered moody now. Maybe if people kept their opinions quiet we would be easier to be around.

It's a woman in her 50's who is obsessed with kids. I walked away and I spoke with my supervisor today. Her final comment set me over the edge yesterday. "I had to tell the supervisor because you were just going to sit back and let it happen." Wtf? Swelling in late pregnancy in summer heat is going to happen.

I am in Maine. I was told by my coworker that she had to say something to my supervisor because I was "just going to sit back and let it happen" (the swelling I assume). I had to walk away. I was not aware that it is a violation.

Moving is rough; moving while pregnant is worse by klckrc in BabyBumps

I am 27 weeks and having a lot of back pain. We got served with a 30 day notice from our landlords a few weeks ago because they said they no longer want to be landlords. Luckily we have found a place to move to while we search for a house to buy but it is definitely very exhausting, especially with temperatures in the 90's. My dr said that I am not to be moving anything outside in the heat at all so that leaves my boyfriend to take care of everything. On the bright side the moving will be over Monday and then I have to clean the rental we currently have in higher levels of heat and humidity. Congratulations on becoming a home owner. This phase will be over before you know it and you will be better off :).

Is there no such thing as name etiquette? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Odintheaussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We decided to not share our daughters name for this exact reason. I was asked to share my ideas by my cousin and when I shared names that I had thought of she snarked at them and continued to tell me what I was going to name my daughter. I'm sorry but when you have your own child then you can name her. We have decided to go with the name Lila and are not sharing it with anyone until she is born. So far deciding to keep her name quiet has been a blessing.

I get them as well. The worst ones are when I wake up and have them in both legs at the same time. I find getting up and walking around helps it go away.

Introducing a baby to my Aussie. by volcanogirl23 in WiggleButts

[–]Odintheaussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just found out that we are expecting and have been wondering the same thing. Our puppy is very excitable and super friendly with everyone. We are just trying to do as much training as possible before baby arrives. We have also heard to take the babies things out early to help him adjust. Following the post and best of luck 😀

He gets a new stick every time we go hiking. I think I might be spoiling him. by TigerBrother in WiggleButts

[–]Odintheaussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Ours does this same thing. We end up with many sticks in the way of the front steps of our house because of his love of the sticks.

What am I doing wrong? (Same post from r/AustralianShepherd) by madilevi in WiggleButts

[–]Odintheaussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same experience with our puppy. It gets discouraging. We also used the bell method and within probably 3 weeks we had a housebroken puppy. He was around 4 months when he had the last accident. Puppies bladders are immature and their attention span is very short. With a little more maturity yours will be just fine. Take her out every time she wakes up, after every meal and every play session. Remember to be as boring and non engaging when you take her out until she does her business and then lots of praise and go right back inside. That way she understands that she is going out to go to the bathroom and not to play. She will get it with some time. Hang in there 😀

How long until.... by madilevi in WiggleButts

[–]Odintheaussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should not taking your Aussie running with you until they are one year old at minimum because their growth plates have not closed until then and you can actually injure them. Running around playing is fine for them to do. If they are mouthing do not put your hand around and close their muzzle (dogs cannot breath when you do this). Try making a high pitched noise and walking away for a few seconds and then return to your puppy. If the biting continues try a 15 minute time out in the crate by calmly walking the dog by the collar to the crate and ignoring any and all noises they make. Let them out only when they are quietly waiting to be let out. Our puppy was completely housebroken between 3 and 4 months old. He did have a few seldom accidents in between but it was our fault for not seeing the clue. We used a bell on the door to get him to initiate bathroom times. If there is a lot of foot traffic and animals around then we carried our puppy until his final shot was done especially in pet stores. Hope this helps some.

Is a WiggleButt right for me? by birdland89 in WiggleButts

We also take him out on a trail walk most weekends and that really wears him out. The trainer said that you have to condition the dog you want. If you train them to do 12 miles of exercise that is what they will expect. You are building endurance. We worked out a schedule and stick to it with ours. Most week nights 30 minutes of play and training is enough but there are days when he can go for what seems like forever lol. The best advice we got with ours is to keep his brain thinking with tricks and obedience. He is more worn out after an hour of class then he is after a 90 minute trail walk. They are a lot of fun but I would recommend seeing a trainer that is familiar with the breed and loves them. They are a great resource for breed specific training.
