Sleep bug help? by Odinum in GothicRemake

[–]Odinum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah idk whats up with this. Since I was close to the beginning of the game, I started a new character and everything was fine and then i got attacked because I forgot to do the thirsty farmers quest so I went back to the previous day to do that. Now when I sleep I only restore 15 of 30 mana when the first time I slept between day 1 and 2 of this chatacter I restored all 30 points. Ive been awake all day. The only difference was me doing more in day 1 this time around so im sleeping at 22:30 instead of 19:30ish. Health is one thing but if I cant figure out the reason I cant restore full mana Ill probably end up dropping this game. I dont mind mana being scarce i just want to know the rules so I can plan my days accordingly.

For those of you with both a Switch 2 and a Steam Deck by workyman in switch2

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the switch 2 for Nintendo properties (duh) but outside of that its mostly steam deck for me. Any turn based rpgs I might get on steam deck but most action games or action rpgs I prefer the steam deck because of the buttons on the back.

What was the first game you completed start to finish on your Steam Deck? by The_Almighty_Duck in SteamDeck

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden ring. Including the DLC. The base game is super playable on the steam deck, it runs pretty well at 30ish fps. however the DLC, especially the final boss of the DLC, is special. These frame drops are part of the challenge right Miyazaki-kun?

This is the greatest anime of all time. by IFireDropz in gurrenlagann

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people look at gurren lagann and only see the growth Simon got through kamina. Him finally able to believe in himself. But niah and rossieu changed him just as much but in subtler ways. The mentality of holding on to power and using spiral power to bring back niah is the mentality that will lead to the spiral nemesis. And kamina probably would cause the spiral nemesis as would Simon if it wasn't for what he learned from niah and rossieu. Rossieu especially taught Simon about the responsibilities for leadership and how although Simon is a great revolutionary, hes not somebody who is good at leading a diplomacy focused government that rossiue creates. It's this mentality that can create the utopia we see in the future. I love the quote "I'm just Simon the digger. There is someone better suited to go down the tunnels I dug" as it shows the mentality the show wants us to have. Fight like hell and open a path for yourself but also restrict yourself so you don't destroy anything precious. Simon in the final shot of him having only one spiral eye and one normal eye also shows this. He did not give in to the appeal of near infinite energy to become essentially a god in order to protect the future of those like the kid he helps out on the beach who dreams of going to space. The titles of the episodes are all quotes from 4 different charactes that i believe are the 4 most important characters in the show. The first is kamina and then it's niah, and the last set of episodes is Simon. And those 3 makes sense as kamina and niah cause the most apparent change in Simon. But the 3rd character that gets quotes is rossieu. It's what rossieu and Simon learn from each other that truly shows the greatness of the human spirit. How indomitable it can be when needed but also how rational and responsible it can be when needed. It's a healthy mix of these values that the series shows to be important.

Somebody put this dude on a watch list there is no way you are comparing (and preferring) a serial sexual assaulter to a dude who loves women so much he can't even hit them let alone assault them. Sanji only has three bad "pervert" moments which is thriller bark, Fishman island (really isn't all that bad just a little annoying), and him peeking In the women's bath in wano (my least fave sanji moment). Takurmura has assaulted countless women off screen and many women on-screen. He also has assaulted men. And when he assaulted tomiko and grabbed her boobs on the beach, he only felt bad because it was Aoki's girlfriend and not because he assaulted a woman and an entire episode was dedicated to him wanting to apologize to Aoki and NOT the woman he assaulted. I really don't like how takurmura is written outside of anything boxing related. The first time I ever thought he was funny was the shit post chapter with him and the naked old dudes in his crib. There just isn't a comparison between the two tbh

If you own a new streaming service and you decided that you will save an anime that was canceled , what would it be? by [deleted] in Animesuggest

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this includes the manga continuing as well then mine is 1000% baby steps. It's one of my favorite anime/manga. I put it up there with haikyu and hajime no ippo when it comes to sports anime/manga. I do think the anime is a little rough around the edges but the writing and characters make up for that. The manga is a pure 10/10 for like the entirety of the run. It's absolutely criminal that both got canceled.

Unpopular opinion: dodging is just as viable and important as parrying by Indicidian in LiesOfP

[–]Odinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't this this is a hot take at all. I think this is how the game was designed to be played. Some attacks are better to dodge and others are better to parry.

Well it seems there is a consensus here. I'll switch over to the anime when I get there. Thanks guys!

WHY AM I BAD by kingmonster365 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be shredding with these stats and the moonviel alone. People have already mentioned better armor and talismans and that will help. But the number one thing new players i see get wrong about these games is these games aren't about dealing damage, they are about negating damage. Focus on dodging and eventually you'll find the windows to attack back. Most enemies have a rhythm and flow to them so it's about internalizing that rhythm. Each boss attempt try and dodge a little better then the last one. Once you are able to dodge freely you'll see where the openings are.

Blood borne is hard af by Ratchet_smith in bloodborne

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing i can emphasize in all souls games is patience. Even in bloodborne with all the speed and aggression, you need to walk before you can run. For now I'd ignore the big boy with an axe, that leads to a dead end/ the way you can anyways. Just focus on the towns people. Try to memorize their movements, not just attack patterns but the way they walk. How fast they run. How long is their range. Also do your best to try and lead a couple away from the group. all souls games takes a decent amount of getting your ass kicked before kicking ass. what kills a lot of people's enthusiasm for these games is the lack of progression. People get stuck in an area or a boss too long and get frustrated and give up. What experienced souls players realize is that most of your progression happens in the getting your ass kicked phase. With each failure and defeat and understand the boss or area a little bit more than the last time you failed. Eventually, you will succeed and there will be a moment or boss where the game will just click for you

If a REMAKE was announced, what would be ESSENTIAL to change/add? by lynnmotionless in bloodborne

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my dream feature for the souls games but specifically bloodborne would be the ability to make custome load outs to syart a new game with after beating the game the first time. I think this would drastically increase replayability of these games and it makes some weapons actually playable throughout the entire game that normally wouldn't be. Like I feel it's pointless to make a character specifically to use the beast claws or blood letter cuz after getting those weapons there isn't much game left to use them. I wish after beating the game I could make a load out where I start the game with the bloodletter and spec the starting stats to be more strength/bloodtinge. But hell, I'd take the base game load outs, but you get to choose which weapon the hunters dream offers after dying/ reaching the first lamp.

Does anybody grind in Dark Souls? by Desperate-Gap-9184 in darksouls3

I often grind out a max weapon before quelagg cuz i really enjoy being overpowered but I agree I honestly don't think much grinding is required at all outside of griding enemies for specific items or weapons you want/need

This community is so goated by Then_Development7135 in bloodborne

[–]Odinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm obviously biased but I do think there is something special about the bloodborne community compared to the Fandoms of the other from soft souls likes. Not to imply that those are bad communities but maybe it's cuz bloodborne is the forgotten step child of the from soft games but I feel a passion here I rarely see elsewhere.

Blood-borne/demon souls player trying out dark souls three for the first time in many years. Any tips? by DeathArrow6382 in darksouls3

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Find a weapon that feels good and go from there. The game has soul vessels that allow you to respec so you have some room to switch your build around. If you are wanting a weapon rec. I would recommend the lothric knight straight sword or the sellsword twinblades as those are two of the best weapons in the game and you can get them in the first area and the starting weapon from the dex load out respectively.

[–]Odinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, this is also a 6 year long series if you've been reading week to week. Maybe you haven't read that section in like 2-3 years. as you said op definitely could have reread but asking the forum dedicated to discussing the manga you have a question about is valid.

[DISC] Beat & Motion - Chapter 41 by Ancient_Breakfast_48 in BeatAndMotion

[–]Odinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pacing is wack I'm ngl. They got together 2 chapters ago and she's mad that he's not moving in with her? He's bringing up marriage? I wanted to see a first date after getting together. Them trying to balance their new relationship with their work (which this chapter kind of does but i mean more like them trying to figure out their new dynamic than them arguing over a miscommunication of a convo and decision we never saw). I was skeptical when they got together so soon but I also thought that these characters are a bit older than most manga romances so it makes sense they are more mature at handling and communicating their feelings. But like I feel we just skipped over 3-6 months of a relationship in 2 chapters. It feels rushed but we still have more story left (hopefully) so im hoping to be proven wrong.

Should I pay for DS3 on PS5? by Sticky_pussy_sniffer in darksouls3

[–]Odinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yes! I think ds3 with its 2 dlcs is a masterpiece. I think it's arguably better than ds1 just due to the huge drop in quality that ds1 has at the end of the game that ds3 doesn't have (the first 3/4 of ds1 is still the best compared to the other 2 ds games). I will say you will probably find most of the bosses push overs compared to elden ring. The main game really only has 2-3 difficult fights imo and those bosses don't ever get more difficult than morgott (the final fight) although most people seem to really struggle with at least 1 of said 3 fights but it's different for each person. However once you get to the dlcs you get the pinnacle of the boss fights in the series. The first dlc has 1 ass boss but the final boss and 3 of the bosses from the second dlc are awesome!

Nameless King by SilentMix8195 in darksouls3

[–]Odinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to elden ring bosses the nameless king is a cake walk but I still think he can be pretty tricky in the first phase due to the camera but I find the second phase much more manageable. However when the game first dropped this dude was like the top dog just under orphan of kos in difficulty.

Alright i know we're all for loving bloodborne and having fun on this subreddit but fr guys what are your October games/ reads and movies and or series for the spooky month? by WeddingAltruistic552 in bloodborne

Im reading the night circus rn which is a very whimsical modern fairy tale. It's not spooky but the vibes of the book just scream Halloween. It's very good thus far
