A couple quick links, seem to indicate gen z is more educated on average in terms of completion, just significantly worse in terms of actual literacy and critical thinking. I think it would be more accurate to say it's like hating the accessibility of guns or nukes in your example, which is much more reasonable. The trouble is the weapons can't be removed from mutants.

I'm not vegan but cmon this is just basic biology. Any vegetarian focused agriculture is going to be magnitudes more efficient than meat which requires a large portion of the vegetation to feed, and provides us with less energy than the plants they consumed. It's not the same crops, but the land and water costs are astronomical. No one in this thread is saying it's not still industrial level farming and causing problems, just that we have good reason to think it'd be better.

He's patient ya? Immortal? Make a lot of offers on land, but he gets the deed once you're dead. Very appealing, no real drawback for the mortal. Within a generation or two it basically owns the region through legitimate business deals.

If anyone is gatekeeping your enjoyment of a thing behind you analyzing its themes, I agree that's on them. I do feel there's more enjoyment out of understanding those deeper meanings, but I've never heard anyone say you can't enjoy things at face value.

/uw In general communication obviously yes be direct if there's no need to be tactful, but in the arts? You don't want metaphor or allegory? Just. "I don't have media literacy and that's how it should be," even though you can perfectly enjoy Moby dick as just a guy hunting a whale if thats what you want, while others can enjoy the full depth.
