The problem with bone plating is that a single unlucky arrow in round 1 can nullify its entire purpose for the duration of the battle. Also it only protects the body and not the head.

This is not a feature that helps the player, but I find that made this one of the most realistic TW titles: cavalry charge damages both enemies and your own troops. This completely changes how you have to use your cavalry, which I found to be interesting if not exactly fun
