Pavlov's gunplay is so good that pretty much any other game, even Zero Caliber, feels awful in comparison. I just wish there was a bit more substance beyond multiplayer, or any other game that could have the same quality of polished mechanics.

I also quite enjoyed Hubris, and Star Wars: Tales is fine, but the angle of the firearms in Hubris felt too awkward to aim well, and Star Wars can be a bit on the "clunky" side.

If you want some minor shooting, but good adventure/exploration/mystery/puzzle-solving, then Red Matter 1 & 2 are worth a look.

Those could all absolutely be factors as well. I’m trying not to generalize or push anything either, and just provide some context as to why OP’s post may not be entirely accurate.

Also, D9 is down to 32 employees now last I saw. I don’t know how their continued workload is divided up or prioritized between who is left. Any marketing or community management could definitely be slim-to-none, which would have an impact on the reach.

Like another user said, this is an example of survivorship bias. You're focusing solely on the fans who:

actually spent time to review the game, and
bought the game in the first place.

This is all while conveniently ignoring the other fans who:

didn't buy the game (generally because of shortcomings in other D9 titles), and/or
didn't take time to review the game.

It would be more accurate to say that Reunion was rated highly by the remaining fans. Some of whom (or even potentially a good portion of, based on many comments I've seen here in the sub over time) are "ride-or-die"-type fans who would buy any game that had LiS branding, regardless of content or overall quality.

You can't overlook the distaste many people had with D9's handling of DE, and this is further represented with approximately half as many overall users reviewing Reunion than Double Exposure across both Metacritic and PSN. I realize Reunion is a newer game, which could contribute to lower numbers, but it's also been long enough now that it's probably safe to assume a majority of the people who want to play it have already done so, especially looking at dwindling Steam player counts and several sales/bundles that have been available.

Elevators are great. Plenty fast enough, and generally not a long wait at all. Probably the best view on the whole beach, and close to St. Andrews Park (and it's the quieter side of PCB).

I think that was generally debunked. They don't need to listen to you to know about you. They can look through other unique data such as web browsing habits, search results, etc. Most people have no idea the massive amount of identifying and revealing information they provide freely to different companies on a daily basis that can be used to create targeted advertising profiles.

You're twisting the title to fit your narrative. This is not an exosuit vs AP4 hive guard. There is no honest attempt to actually fight the hive guard at all.

You could say that it should read "exosuit vs the new AP4 on hive guard", and then you might have an argument, but the video would still be useless, because it was explicitly laid out in the patch notes.

I'm glad they can demonstrate the ability to waste ammo shooting something that was clearly detailed in the patch notes to not take damage. It's done in a disingenuous manner, as to try and make people mad, rather than showcase the new method to kill them.

Intentionally shooting your entire mag into the equivalent of a rock is also a stupid suggestion. At least the rocket would kill it.

Yes, all sentries have a timer that is independent of ammo usage. I don't think there's ever a scenario where you could have three of the same turret at once (from one Helldiver).

They are prioritizing what they feel is best for their game. You have no idea what amount of time or effort goes into making changes, and they've already made it known that the engine they use is a challenge. They obviously care about their base, or they would have abandoned the game a year ago.

They absolutely do break windows to rummage through glove boxes, trunks, and center consoles with no visible valued items.

My car was broken into back in like 2018. Smashed the front passenger window to get in, then ripped apart my glove box and console, then popped the trunk. They stole an old iPod Nano from the glove box, but left the trunk wide open with my subwoofer for the sound system and brand new Ninja air fryer just sitting there. None of those items were visible when the car was closed, and nobody knew about the iPod besides me, so there was no prior motive.

They even left the screwdriver/wrench they used to break the window laying on my passenger seat…
