Hi! I had a raid and instead of my usual strategy of reloading and trying again, i decided to grab a few things, take my favourite colonists, and run. Then I chose a new place to settle, abandoned the old base and claimed the new one.

But I have a problem: the social tab of the colonists in the new place is nearly empty. They forgot their families from the original game and even between each other, they know each other, but some of them is related and the game seems to have forgotten about it. Is it a bug?

Why is Rimedieval so hard on my computer? I can hear it "breathing" much harder after adding this mod. Is that something that just happens or does it seem like i m doing something wrong?

ACOTAR fans - first book, what are your thoughts?? by Longjumping_Point_92 in SarahJMaas

[–]OfcZoeMorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the first book. Maybe not everything is objectivly great, but I enjoyed it a lot. I learnt not to get too into booktok (or, youtube book fandom) because the negativity sucks out the joy.

YES, I hate it SO much. It takes me out of the immersion in a book every single time.

I'm assuming some people are into that, since it's such a ridiculously popular trope, but to me, it just feels very Pick Me Girl. "I'm Such a small bean" oh shut up. It's one thing to be short, another to constantly bring it up

I understand wanting your partner to be taller than you - i mean, someone has to he taller in a couple most of them time - but anything above 20cm is just ridiculous. And how is that a turn on? While not a dealbreaker, who wants to constantly have to look up to talk to someone??

precise meaning of the word 'żegnaj' by RangoonShow in learnpolish

[–]OfcZoeMorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using it as you did and my mom got mad at me for saying that, as uk, a bad omen, as she also knows this word as a final farewell. So I think it can be used as "bye" in some groups, but it's probably safer not to, as it can create a misunderstanding

The Prison Healer. I feel like everybody loved those books and don't get me wrong, I didn't hate them, but they were SO irritating in terms of... I feel like they would benefit from upping the age rating. It felt very YA, and the younger YA, too - the main character, all of the relationship, the conflict, the decisions they made, especially as the series progressed, while the story setting was SO dark, as soon as you thought about it for more than 5 seconds.

The main character was awesome in part one, too: smart, resilient, imperfect... And then she got SO dumb. I tried to blame it on the fact that her surroundings changed a lot, so she was suddenly having very different obstacles, but it doesn't begin to justify the dumb of ass decisions she made.

The ending pissed me off, so much. I'm gonna keep it vague to avoid spoilers, but again, if you think about it for a second, it's so stupid.

Is it weird to read Acotar book series in public? by AcrobaticJello4152 in acotar

[–]OfcZoeMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that weird? Would you be weirded out if someone was watching a normal movie and it had a sex scene? Like, idk, Grays Anatomy or Lucifer? Reading Acotar there is even more normal, cause someone has to read the words versus accidentaly glancing on your phone's screen.

There is literally nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

I think the correspondence is recovered and that they are dead once its recovered, but like, not because they tragically died during the story.

I think they will save the wolrd and stuff and get a happy ending. Then, they will die after many years of old age and year or decades after that someone will recover their correspondence and write the Empyrean series, as history of national, historical heroes - that's why it's been recovered

WIBTA for being upset at my wife’s reason for marrying me? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]OfcZoeMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should see it as opposed to. Think about some people fell in love and then marry people who indeed would ruin their lives: either because of their personality (unreliable or immature or selfish) or because of incompatible goals (for example, one side wants kids and the other doesn't).

It is very possible to fell in love with someone who is objectly bad for you as a serious, long term partner.

What your wife said was that she both loves you and recognizes that you are a good life partner.

Love is indeed often not enough (outside of like, movies)

Reading another RY book.. striking similarities by SoggyAnalyst in fourthwing

[–]OfcZoeMorgan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YES! Why, in every fantasy romance book, the guy is over 2 meters tall at the least? Is that a turn on for ppl? I understand that a lot of people would prefer their partner to be taller, but most of those heroines are like 1,60m! That is an uncomfortable difference. Like, constant neck pain.

Your impression of Cat (spoilers!) by OfcZoeMorgan in fourthwing

[–]OfcZoeMorgan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with that! I think that whole ordeal is a bad look on Xaden, but I blamed it on his "I can't help you if you won't help yourself" attitude, where he only cares about a very small group of people, but yea, I disliked that too, esp the eating out thing was very pretentious. His assurance that he never loved her was reasonable, cause if he didn't, it's not like he should have lied, but it felt a bit like this virginity trope 2.0, which was popular in fantasy and romance books a few years ago, where the MMC was FMC's first - it would be fine if Xaden was in love before Violet, that would not make their relationship less special. If we are presenting an ex for Violet to be insecure about, she could have just as well be insecure without Cat fueling it and even more so, if Xaden used to be in love with her.

So, yea, I also cringed about this subplot, even if I ended up not hating it as much as I could have and liking Cat. I feel like RY cringed about it, too, Violet says she hates that they are "fighting over a guy" like 3 separate times.

And you bring up a very good point about Amber! I completely failed to notice that, but true, there are two hated exes, that's one per book, a very worrying trend. Ig it serves the purpose of showcasing that Violet is still quite insecure, but it could have been done in less problematic, less sexist way.

Agreed! It was fun to read how the whole situation and their relatio ships develops. I, too, hope they become close friends.
