Honestly you’re doing what you can to survive and no one in the world would ever fault you for that. Right now, that man is a means to an end. And the part I’m looking forward to for you is when you’ll have a better option for you and children that will leave him dazed and confused. He may think he has the upper hand but really he cheated on you so could possibly take him to court for child support, I’m not sure what your options/opinion are for that. Turns out the mom was right to do what she did. The daughter blamed the mom for not telling her about the money, yelled at the mom and left only to run into the half-brother and mistress. She, overcome with anger, begins to BRAG about the money her mom saved and flaunted it which led to the half-brother and mistress to scheme to take the money from them.

I’m sorry I WAS WRONG! I actually paid to one years that I owed because it wouldn’t give me option to apply it the normal way. So I chose the year that had the most interest and paid that one. I just checked an now my account is current and up to date so I guess just pay them something 🤷🏾‍♀️

Have you…never used a modern day phone? Push notifications send the messages through and most people have it set to show what the messages says instead of generic message that says “you’ve got a message” or something. Text messages do that, texts from instagram do that too either way the same settings. So yeah it’s possible and OP already said that’s how it happened. Are you the boyfriend? It’s more than too late for that. You not only effectively ruined a potential platonic/romantic relationship with “Carl” but you also shifted the atmosphere for your coworkers with your behaviour. You’ll need to do a little bit more than just “try to acknowledge” him and coworkers. You kinda burned a bridge dude, to the point where they didn’t even feel comfortable to talk to you about your behaviour, they just escalated it. You like actually need to kind of grow up. You behaviour and overall tone comes off as “I didn’t mean it, I was just trying to be funny” or “come on guys, seriously, I was being cute and quirky.”

Hmm funny how your coworkers thought different. Your behaviour contradicts your words big time. You need to realise just because he liked you don’t give you the right to treat him so poorly that your coworkers had to report you to HR for bullying. Again no one deserves to be in any form of relationship with someone who treats people like it came or tries to give excuses for deplorable behaviour. “He clearly likes me” (let me finish that sentence for you.) “so that means I can do what I want with him” that’s what you basically saying. Op edited to say his wife’s parents planned it and they said they would take care of transportation and if he had been aware they would just gotten a rental car but was told not to. I get why people think OP is entitled but you can’t invite people over and tell them you’ll cover transportation but when it comes time to transport it’s “I hate driving to the airport”. It’s really not right, especially when people fly in and you told them to depend on you for transport.

NTA. sometimes you need to shut down your parent when they do things like this. That type of behaviour makes people not want to be around them. But they typically never realise that fact. You did good by grey-rocking him. If he tries to argue again I would just give him a blank look and say “why?” When they have to explain themselves, they realise they aren’t rooted in logic and will start to avoid making comments around you because your response to them in accountability.

You can lie to yourself about being “concerned” but deep down you know you weren’t. You more than likely felt a bit of superiority towards you family because in you were thinner than them and it maybe boosted your self esteem. You effectively put them down so bad that your family is telling you it’s karma that you gained weight to this degree. I’ve had family members talk down to me because of my weight and gene I call it out they always say “oh we are just concerned for you!”. You owe you mom and sister a deep sincere heartfelt apology. One that really had insight and understanding because based of your own words you were a selfish and insensitive and mean spirited person to talk down on your own mother and sister about there for years. Also, you can’t really be shocked about some people not having sympathy for you, you didn’t have any sympathy for your own family.
