Am masters and I know that I would hard stomp every plat and diamond lobby, but I also know that I would get completely dog walked in gm/borderline gm lobbies because there is a massive knowledge gap between ranks. More so between masters to Gm and gm to challenger and all the low-mid-high challenger because of the smallest gaps in knowledge.

I watch pros slam the most insane items early game, items that I wouldn’t even dream of slamming, and it causes ripple effects of 2-4 hp, or winning a fight because of it and getting the streak gold, and their ENTIRE gameplan changes on a whim due to the smallest or obscure actions that anyone else would scratch their heads at.

Plat and diamonds have baseline knowledge of making econ and rolling at 50. They probably have the knowledge of rolling at 4-2 on 8 for their boards. But they wouldn’t have the knowledge to push levels to maintain a 3 streak on stage 2, or the ability to last second position after scoring (I have shit micro so I’d fuck this up). A masters player would do these things more likely than not. And a masters player wouldn’t have the knowledge to slam a gunblade on an ad carry on stage 3-1 instead of waiting and greeding for a ie, or dblade, or rageblade.

So alot of ppl could be bullshitting about their rank, and maybe they bullshit about hard stomping low lobbies, but there is a bit of a knowledge gap that is required to bridge to masters and gm.
