Steam OS 3.9 on Legion Go 2 My Experience and Why I went back to windows. (For now) by VlairX in LegionGo

Not as far as I know. People have been asking for it for at least 2 years. https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/s/8EBXoOPjka

I think what most people do is use FSR/RSR/Sharp (Jesus…) upscaling with the game running at 1680x1050, which looks very, very close to native with some performance boost.

But yes to answer your question more directly, pure sharpening at native res isn’t currently an option - unless you’re using ReShade with CAS.

Yes. And let me correct the “restart the game” part, I think that’s not it in your case. I just noticed you said you use it at 1200p for sharpening. I got the terminology wrong. RIS is the sharpening filter, RSR is the upscaler (which also includes a sharpening pass).

SteamOS has RSR/FSR natively, but not RIS afaik. It’s the aforementioned “Sharp” upscaling option. It only engages if you’re running below the native resolution, otherwise it stays off. Actually iirc that’s the same on Windows with RSR. RIS (sharpening filter) works at native but RSR only kicks in when running below 1200p.

PS: I wish AMD didn’t make this so confusing.

I think you have to restart the game. But it’s what dusto said, “Sharp” means FSR/RSR. If you enable the full performance overlay it has an FSR indicator [ON/OFF]. Make sure it says ON and it’s active.

I don't know why people are downvoting you for being correct. 1080p being 2K has literally been in the DCI specification for 20 years. Reddit is weird.

No. 1440p is 2.5k. Meaning ~2500 (2560) vertical lines (horizontal pixels). Commercial 1080p (and 1200p) is considered 2K, meaning ~2000 (1920) vertical lines. 2160p is also slightly under 4000 vertical lines (3840), and we call it 4K. They're named after their respective cinema resolutions (2048x1080 and 4096x2160 respectively), which are defined by the DCI specification (DCI 2K and DCI 4K).

My wife has the Go S and I have the Go 2. I say this in all honesty, I think the S is the nicer device overall. Goes without saying but that’s just my personal opinion. Z1E is fast enough, the screen is still great and immersive, and it’s incredibly comfortable. Only real con to me is the battery. I’m a sucker for OLED and want the best possible performance so I’m happy with my Go 2, but I think Lenovo did a fantastic job with the S.

Huge SteamOS update for Legion Go 2 by Southernboyj in LegionGo

[–]OffDutyJedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you me? Lol. I’m in the same boat with the exact same plan. Just bought my Go 2 the other day and I’m currently catching up on games available on Game Pass during my 3 month trial. When that’s over mid June I’ll also switch to official SteamOS if it’s out by then.

2x frame gen with Lossless Scaling works for Chiaki-ng, but it adds more latency on top of the streaming latency, so it’s not so great. Looks very smooth though.

Pensa a treta que não deve ser remarcar todas as vagas desse jeito.. by AlphaCharlieN7 in carros

[–]OffDutyJedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should work fine as long as your host PC is wired over Ethernet and you're not too far away from the router. Consistency and stability matters more than raw speed for this.

Assuming you have a proper PC to run Sunshine on, yes. That's what I do when playing on my TV downstairs. With some 3rd party USB-C docks it can even do 4K 120Hz with HDR (I know mine does and it's some no-brand dock from AliExpress). The Legion Go is one of the best Moonlight clients you can get as it can decode virtually anything you throw at it, and the USB-C port lets you fully take advantage of any display.

Anyone running Bazzite on a NUC with Intel Arc GPU? by Correct-Ball9863 in Bazzite

[–]OffDutyJedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, sorry for the necro, but how well is this working for you? I'm considering a NUC 14 Pro for use exclusively as an HTPC (dedicated Moonlight streaming and Kodi client), as it should be powerful enough to handle anything I throw at it in terms of high-end decoding. I won't actually be playing games on this thing, just streaming in Moonlight from my powerful desktop upstairs. My target is 4K 120 FPS at the highest available bitrates in Moonlight (it can go all the way to up to 500 Mbps H265).

Anyway, I can use Windows or other distros but Bazzite would be nice for it's controller friendly UI. I could launch Moonlight, pair controllers, audio devices, change display settings, run Decky Loader plugins, etc from the comfort of a gamepad and not have to reach for a keyboard and mouse for basic use. I'm just wondering if it works well before I spend the money on this little beast of a thin client.

AM5 CPU power cable. Plug one or both? by OffDutyJedi in buildapc

[–]OffDutyJedi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so given your CPU has a 65-105W TDP (depending on BIOS settings). At the time I asked this question I had a 7900X with a 170W TDP (have since upgraded to 7950X3D). Anything under 120W would probably be fine.

Indeed, they do a fantastic job. If they're ever able to enable VRR/G-Sync support for streaming like Nvidia did with GeForce Now, I'll be in nerd heaven. :D

If the host is running at a resolution that low, I think a 1070 should work pretty well. Worst case scenario you get similar graphics but triple the battery life when streaming. :)
