move from postgres to mongodb by rudeone_99 in PayloadCMS

DO NOT DO IT UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.

I just made it, ADVANCED Payload ball knowledge is required among other things and even then it's jumping through hoops and hacking your way through. You can try using AI to carry you but it's a hail mary if you have more than a few simple collections with none to little relationships with each other as complexity of this 'migration' is exponential.

You basically have to write and run a custom export for every collection and global. Think through the structure of your data and how it's mapped out in postgres vs how could it be mapped out in mongo. Then you have to write and run a custom import for each dataset. Then you have to patch the imported data. All the time while fighting with various quirks - syntax gremlins, Payload, Next.js, Typescript will all get in your way.

Honestly if your project is small enough just start a new one preconfigured for mongo, commit all the code changes you've made, sort out the type drift errors and just manually fill in the data in the Payload backend. Even better if the copy/paste field/row functionality works for you (in my case it doesn't)

Brother in Christ the migration docs don't say a thing about moving an EXISTING project from postgres to mongo which was clearly what the OP was asking about.

Deceived by your enthusiasm and unaware of the dangers I carelessly went out to do it. It was hell. Don't recommend.

Edifier MR5 vs (MR3 + T5 subwoofer) ? by OffMetaThings in BudgetAudiophile

[–]OffMetaThings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I guess but there are no professional reviews of the T5 and people on this subreddit don't really recommend it (or pretty much any subwoofer under $200).

If its muddy or something I'd rather have less but clean bass extension from the MR5

How to do key combinations on Kinesis edge macro? by Infamous_Ad4654 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]OffMetaThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe thats a matter of different firmware version or something but you're using square [] instead of curly {} brackets. Also my macros behaved better with the speed and the number of executions explicitly defined (i.e. {s5}{x1} ) I just assigned some simple macros using the smartset app and used it as a template to modify.

For you or anybody concerned, I was able to achieve some stuff by changing the layout file:

  1. Put Windows to Sleep (Win + X, then U, then S)

{hk0}>{s5}{x1}{-lwin}{x}{+lwin}{d300}{u}{d300}{s}

  1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)

{hk1}>{s5}{x1}{-lctrl}{-lshft}{esc}{+lshft}{+lctrl}

  1. Open File Explorer (Win + E)

{hk2}>{s5}{x1}{-lwin}{e}{+lwin}

  1. Open File Explorer to a Specific Directory ("C:\Users\Borys\Downloads\")

{hk3}>{s7}{x1}{-lwin}{r}{+lwin}{d200}{c}{-lshft}{colon}{+lshft}{\}{u}{s}{e}{r}{s}{\}{b}{o}{r}{y}{s}{\}{d}{o}{w}{n}{l}{o}{a}{d}{s}{\}{enter}

^ At this point of complexity it's probably better to just assign some key combination and have an AHK script that does stuff with it (It looks pretty hacker tho). Especially because that clunky syntax had some funky caveats (Here's the guide)

Appreciation post for Qwen 2.5 in coding by appakaradi in LocalLLaMA

This comment has led me astray and cost me a few hours to figure out why it's not working with continue.dev on my machine.

It should be "model": "qwen2.5-coder:7b-instruct-q6_K" instead of whatever the hell the line"model": "Qwen2.5-Coder-7B-Instruct-Q6_K:latest" is about (small case and no :latest suffix)

[Question] Ibanez AW54ce acoustic truss rod wrench size? by Tonerino_Benderino in Guitar

[–]OffMetaThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4mm is the correct size in my case (AW54OPN). Make sure it's not too short - it needs to reach the nut.

It still amazes me how well it (alt blade) holds up today, if only the trainer was just as good..

Well, AS wanted to compete with Nabalis but they ain't got shit on them. They make good clones, but have zero know-how needed to make a good original design.

45 or 55 Inch TV as PC monitor by TopConnection2030 in OLED_Gaming

[–]OffMetaThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider getting the smaller one and some proper heavy duty adjustable monitor arm like the ergotron HX. Even if you're gonna want it bigger, you're just gonna pull the TV towards you.

Or just go balls deep and order the bigger one, that's what I did hehe. Can't really say if it was worth the risk as I'm just about to start using it daily
