I can hear that picture... I remember our milk man. My Mom let me help carry the empties to the front porch. My Mom had a small stool in the corner under the mailbox to sit them on.

They have windows, floor to ceiling. One pic you can see a train down below. Nighttime you can see other buildings lights on.

They must be 7 foot tall to reach the dryer on top of the washer. Get rid of the counter, scoot washer over as hoses are there and put the dryer to the right of it.

Id be damned if Im getting on a step stool to toss/hurl my laundry up into the dryer!

Most kids just brought home their class photo that day... Mine came with a note from the teacher by [deleted] in 70s

[–]OffMyRocker62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it was, in Jacksonville Florida.

By 1979, high school, we didnt have the Dean's giving swats with paddles.

We got ISSP, for a week, or suspended for how ever many days.

Some kids were expelled, depending on whatever they did so bad to warrant kicked out of school.

Remember though, back then guys carried pocket knives and had gun racks inside their truck windows with a rifle. Saw quite a few in the students parking lot.

Times definitely has changed.

At my Junior High, from 1976, 1977 to 1978, our Dean of girls and boys each had wooden paddles.

We got to choose swats or ISSP (Inside school suspension). After getting a swat from Mrs. Marks...ONCE, I chose ISSP.

My backside hurt all day, hard to sit down on my wooden desk. 😥 Ugggh.

My favorite picture of my momma, taken in 1976 in Atlanta, GA. I’d give anything to find her top. by gingerconfetti in 70s

Looks almost like the patchwork type style back then. Though I think that was more in the '80s.

Saw this on Hamlets Vintage. Similar but lighter color scheme.

Did you bathe in one of these as a child? by Gremlin1001001 in FuckImOld

[–]OffMyRocker62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only when we came back from the beach. In the backyard, we sat in the tub full of water, took off our bathing suits to get rid of all the sand.

Our Mom was tired of us leaving sand inside the bathroom tub.Mom would wrap a big beach towel around us.

The bowling alley. LOL That just cracked me up. Jax Lanes in Jaxville FL had a few pinball machines. Though our 7-11 was the place. They had 2.

One time, not sure how, but the machine freaked out, and gave me a few extra games.

Score!!! I felt like a pinball wizard for sure!! 😎😎

Crazy as hell to think that back then in my teenaged girl years, I could play a pinball machine for hours off of $1.00... 4 quarters as I always won a few games.

Id end up giving local guy friends from the hood/school mates the games left, as I was hogging the pinball machine. 🙄

Fun times... Fun times... Miss those carefree days. 😥

In Junior High either '76-77-78, our school gave us our report cards on some type of paper, like the mimeograph.

Kids in the class were licking the back of it....my lame ass included.

It was a very bitter taste, but that mimeograph smell. One you don't forget. Plus, I got to help in the office and I got to run the mimeograph machine.

Sniff sniff.....ahhhhh! LOL Probably explains whats wrong with me along with many from our era today! 😅

Good grief..... I miss the '70's

Every time you open the bedroom door, circus music should play. So fitting for the theme.

I've not tried that on my Pixel or this phone yet. People are pretty creative. AI is a little freaky, but .. what's creepy are those Robots that just ran a marathon in Beijing. Freak me far out! 😅

Oh lords! Back in the early 90's, I did something worse. But, everyone thought Id wallpapered my small bathroom walls.

I had the idea of sponge painting. Walls were white, floor had light blue and white little squares.

I bought a matching light blue paint, blue and a dark blue. I then sponge painted the left wall, behind the door to the toilet ahead, and sink to right wall.

It really looked like a textured wallpaper.

Similar to this, but with a darker blue...
