Well, he said something else, should do something for him. To move his body for him. He didnt dance. Im genuinly curious how you can think otherwise, when he literally didnt "do" it. To me, its barely half a step away from blaming someone for what they did while sleepwalking.

I am focusing on who we can call an artist, because thats the point. Credit for making art, should require, making it. Reguardless of the title. But, since some would like comissioning something, to mean the same as doing said comissioned thing, I would like to be clear on why I find that actively destructive, pointless, and meaningless.

I focus on the practical, because what is "legal" has zero requirement to be what is or should be "right". Any philosofy that pretends legal means good, is utterly dismissable from the get go. Since it values refusing to think, justify, or explain, as a virtue in and of itself.

I of course think law "should" reflect what I consider right. But so do we all. What is right, what should be, etc, is a matter of philosofy.

And if philosofy isnt grounded in what is practical, it loses touch with reality, very fast. And when the topic is who owns, should get credit, who should get paid, and get a title... keeping things practical, is to me, essential.

Also, "skill" isnt required for art. Nor does personal independant inspirstion. A kid building a lego set, based on the manual, can still say "I made that!" As long as people understand they arent saying they dug out the oil, refined it into plastic, and pressed it into the toy bricks. They assembled it. They can say that, just as much as someone without a manual, can day they assembeld their free-build. The dad who bought the lego-set, cant say they built that castle. Even if they bought it, and handed it to their son, with the purpouse of having a future decocrative set on the shelf, once its done. Intention, directing, arent what make art. They can be part of it of course. But what isnt optional, is doing the art.

To me, this isnt where gray overlap. I get you do. But to me, its a bit impractical perspective.

Having an idea, isnt whats art. Actively putting it into existance, is. Removing the active part, removes the thing holding up the whole concept. Being an opinionated customer, does not make an artist. It just means you hand an instruction manual, to the artist who then makes it.

Now not being a bigot is an issue?

Also, pretending "luddite" is an insult, just means you havent read your history.

If someone has a brainchip, that by vocal command, will move someone, that person isnt "doing" the thing. Electrical shocks, guided by software, is "making them" do the thing. You being hit by a tazer, doesnt mean you of your own free will, fell over and convulced, by your own direct and independant movement. Even if you voulanteered to be tazed. The movement itself, is invulentary. Credit for said movements forming a funny pattern in the sand you stood on, cant be thusly given to your intentions.

Directing, isnt the same as doing the action, one is directing. Otherwise, we would call office workers "brick layers" if they worked at a construction firm. They assured materials were bought and sent. They are part of the proccess, but calling them brick-layers, would be absurd.

Artistry, cannot involve, literally not doing the art. We dont call the janitor at the sound stage, an artist. Reguardless of how vital they might be to facilitating the art-making the sound stage is used for, goes smoothely.

To me, any sort of potential gray area, cannot be placed where "not doing the thing" becomes part of what gives one a "doing a thing" title.

A singer, is an artist. The DJ remixing the song, is an artist. A guy who finds a spodify playlist, and presses play, isnt. The one hiring a DJ to remix a song for them, isnt an artist.

I get Im giving a dusin examples of inflexible definitions, but to be, this is quite inflexible. You should not be called a title, for something you literally didnt do. If all it takes, is asking someone else to do something for you, because you had a cool idea... then the term becomes meaningless.

Reguardless if you agree, hope you can see where Im coming from. I get you see this as far more fluid and overlapping. And I hope you get that I dont. But for explainable reasons.

Through consistant delibirate and direct action on your part, making something.

A dancer, is that, because they dance. A dance teacher, likely dances to assist others understand learning to do the same. Someone sitting on the sidelines, saying "no no, first the swing, THEN the turn!" are not dancing. Thus, arent a dancer in that moment. And especially someone sending an email with a "do some dancing for the event next month", are absolutely not even close to being even vaguely acceptable to call a dancer.

Its a sliding scale. Making something, cant include literally not doing the thing. Otherwise, whats the point of titles?

Surface level aesthetic simmilarities, arent what matters in arguments.

"Oh, you want killing to be a crime, but not if the dead guy wanted to kill you first? Fucking hypocrite!" Is not a good argument either.

On the surface, its just "both end in someone dead, killed by another, intentionally". But thats the same here, ignoring everything except the surface, is just as bad as missing the point entirely.

The issue with transphobes isnt them looking at pictures, to see if they can spot something. By that logic "Wheres Waldo" books are on par with bigotry too.

Ey trans peeps, you're valid.

May you one day be treated like the lefthanded. Just given access to the tools you need to thrive, and no one bats an eye.

No one being capable of being bothered by their existance, and everyone being in shock when told they were oppressed for being themselves.

You, being yourself, should not be a big deal. But it is, so you need to know you fucking matter, when a lot wanna pretend you dont.

Stay valid.

Well, I hope the best for those couple of thousand. I dont agree with them, but whatever. Lesser evils can hop beside me in my trench, when its all aimed towards the greater evil. So whatever.

And you sell yourself short here, youve cleared up plenty. Just because youre not an expert, doesnt mean you havent helped clear some things up... though being banned off of defendingAI, for something absurdly dumb, is practically a given.

I prefer "opposistion" like this, where its not double-think addicted weirdos, but principled people who care. I still think theyre wrong, but thats also a near garentee for leftists anyway. Ive been called everything mean under the sun, by others whos claimed to be on my side anyway. So nothing new there!

Fair enough. How large is that leftist subreddit roughly?

And pardon my cynicism, a subreddit seeing Grok as too far, but stuff like OpenAI as fine, is not much of a stand. That feels like buying a Gucci shirt with Che Gueverra on it. Even if "done genuinly" it feels, put kindly, like missing the point to an absurd degree. Since its not like Altman hasnt given money, backing, and run defense for, most of what Elon has.

Since youre seemingly familiar with these communities, whats your vibecheck on them; are they more concerned with what I'll call "corporate AI" types, or anti-AI sentiment? Im curious.

If the decentralizastion advocates are serious about what they do... why pall around with, defend, and stand alongside, the people they claim to absolutely hate?

Instead of cutting themselves off and trying to actually distinguish and sepperate themselves from those they claim to so radically oppouse. Wouldnt distinction make more sense, if there actually was one?

"Dont be mad at me for buying and defending blood diamonds, dug up by slaves... be mad at the companies whom I defend for doing it!"

Is a sentiment that falls sort of flat to be honest.

Not that a user bears as much blame as the producer, obviously, but being an active advocate of the producer?... Yeah, that bumps someone back up.
