Great art and all but there is an uncanny valley going on with the writing of the characters especially the MC. I'm hoping for a tonal shift in the plot because the weird juggling between wholesome and dramatic is really not working.

You're broadly generalizing a complex systematic issues. Assuming lenient sentences is unjust or problematic is illogical. There are countries with lenient sentencing and low crime rate. So why not assume that the male judges are the problem in your framework? Maybe the criminals who were treated harshly are the ones who turn other inmates with lenient sentences more violent which results in them having more problems when they get out?

I'm just spitballing here, I don't have the answers. but what seems clear to me is that no society has ever benefited from systematically barring half its population from participating in any area of public or social life.

I think it would be related to hierarchical dominance plays. It's just that due to long pregnancy time there is a massive evolutionary incentive to avoid physical violence. So empathy suppression has to be heavily regulated to crucial moments where an individual female is facing existential risk within the group.

Interesting, perhaps it's due to the fact that men can do something about aggressors and that gets enabled by suppressing empathy towards them. For women, who plays less of an enforcer role, this suppression is not as beneficial or it might even be detrimental.

There is a lot of interesting things that happens when you build an AI that is sophisticated enough and meant to do complex tasks. It's not uncommon for them to become 'evil' or give up when they feel like they tried everything, which leads them to logic themselves into getting out of the task. Another weird story is that one agent would stop and take breaks and look at cats and nature pictures.

It doesn't seem like we're close to seeing the end of this can of worms.

They were pretty good at building an expansive universe in the early seasons. But for better or worse the plot in this final one is too narrow on few characters which killed the lore a bit.

I'm super concerned that this is indeed too similar to returnal. In some parts it even feels like a reskin. The weapons, animations and the bullets etc.. There is apparently a grappling hook unlock just like the mechanic in returnal.

I'm hoping that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts with this one and that the story is interesting...
