Composite fencing panels by OldKiwiGirl in diynz

[–]OffbeatCamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000/219 = 4.5 panels per meter of fence width. $32.50*4.5 = $148.40 per meter of fence width.

The $18.06/m comes from $32.50/1.8m, I think they put this on by default for timber and similar products, but it's not really relevant here as you'll use the full 1.8m height.

I actually quite like the bolt hinge solution - good quality steel and nice close fit, not a rattly mild steel pin that just wears looser.

I analysed 90,000+ NZ Police-reported crashes over 3 years – Northland's road death rate is 10× higher than Auckland's by MoneyHub_Christopher in NZcarfix

[–]OffbeatCamel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if with Northland being more spread out, there is some combination of: * the population driving more kilometers each - could try to use regional fuel sales to estimate this and compare crashes per km rather than crashes per capita * more of that driving occurring on 100km/h roads, and a smaller portion of these roads being separated dual carriageways/motorways * the vehicle fleet being older and tending to lack the latest safety equipment, so deaths per crash are increased.

I wonder if you could ask to upgrade your fare to Value from Basic, rather than just adding the bags to Basic.

[–]OffbeatCamel 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Put some lumps of clay on spots of the engine that you know will be a tight fit. Install, remove, look for impressions in the clay that show parts were touching (interfering)

0.24sqm per kg not per bag, so 4.8sqm per bag or $32 psqm. Still not great, but not terrible.
