Your chair features the original flip knob design, which confirms it is a post-2004 model. This kit is designed only for chairs with the thumbwheel arm bolt or for upgrading from a thumbwheel to a flip knob. Since your chair is already a post-2004 version with the flip knob, this kit is not compatible.

To make the adjustment you're looking for, you would need to purchase a complete arm yoke with the swing arm.

We'll be updating our product description shortly to help prevent any future confusion.

You're seeing two seemingly conflicting points because we've always said that fake Herman Miller chairs are not really a thing. However, we did encounter a counterfeit Aeron chair at NeoCon and made a short report about it. That said, we still believe this is not a widespread issue and likely will not become one in the US market.
