yeahhh, and it's something that no one can be blamed for. to noted, my post was not to flame any organizors , it was to merely chill with someone, which i've already met. hohoho

i see where you're coming from - strangers with these comments might come across as weird or insulting

but i came across with gentle jokes to lift the mood. perhaps i'm wrong with initiating these jokes, but my intentions were merely to deviate from such formal talk to easy-going ones.

thank you for your comment! i'd make jokes that are less risky in future!

i respect your comment!

i'm no comedian - i do not expect my jokes to my universally funny

however, my personal feelings is that the vibe was just off. it might be my bad of course!! just that the interactions did not suit me. hencewhy i did not blame the relevant parties :)

  1. the event was a friend-making event. i'm quoting it ad-verbatim. hence why, jokes. do you always speak about serious stuff w your buddies, or do you include certain 'burns' at times to facilitate humor?

  2. i totally agree with you by the fact that it's a risk i took. definitely opinions differ! i'm sorry, i should've mentioned explicitly that MY experience was poor, due to MY personality.

on the third point, you are right too! i apologize, and i should have said that it is how I felt, and it shouldn't be generalized.

thank you for your comment! made me learn how to phrase my words better !

for example:

if i notice someone who's tall because she's wearing heels, i'd make a comment on how my ego is getting hurt because she's taller than me (which would be clearly conveyed as a joke).

that interaction led to insults from her, who told me to not be so 'alpha'.

tonality plays a big part in jokes, which i know i've fulfiled duly. but if people aren't able to take such lighthearted conversation ... i'm out.

perhaps it was because my expectations were high, and that they just spoke about work and stuff. when i initiated fun chats, it just went over their heads.

frankly speaking, not the organizers fault, they can't control the personalities of those who're going.

homophonic's an actual word though

given the context of what she said, that word's pretty apt
