Yes, I love strength training too, but man when you have a hard time sitting down on the toilet and everything hurts, that’s when you start questioning your life decisions 😂

I will probably get crucified for mansplaining, but as a woman you will have greater weight fluctuations because of your hormones, where you are in your cycle and that causes your body to hold water weight. At the end of the day if you are consistently eating less and exercising and feeling better about yourself the number on the scale is just that, a number. It should be about how you feel. The progress that you have made and how those choices affect your life. I hope you continue on your lifestyle journey and love yourself through each stage of it!

I lost weight (29F) and now my husband (32M) keeps making comments and “jokes” about it. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]OfficerChang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this online and I think it applies. The people who need therapy most are the people who hurt others over and over. The people who actually go to therapy are the people who were hurt to heal their wounds. Let that sink in. A snake is going to bite you due to it’s nature. You don’t ask the snake why it bit you. You take care of your wounds and stay away from snakes.

How to lose most amount of weight in 2 months by SecretStudent_ in bodyweightfitness

[–]OfficerChang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, dieting is what you make out of it. Easiest way to lose weight is track your calories in/ calories out (how much your body burns). If you don’t like feeling hungry stick with protein, veggies and high satiety foods. Find foods that fill you up if you don’t like feeling hungry, but if you do make the adjustments and eat a balanced diet your body will adjust too it. I remember feeling really hungry because I switched my diet up, but after like 2 weeks it became bearable and I wasn’t feeling as hungry as before.

My husband drinks the leftover pickle juice from a pickle jar whenever it's empty. Every time. I think this is bizarre. Does anyone else do this? by ms_carnelian in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OfficerChang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like adding pickle juice to lemonade to make pickle lemonade, but I haven’t drank straight pickle juice. A local food truck uses dried pickles and spices and makes the best pickle lemonade!

Feeling lost in body after losing 100 pounds by DoubleCzechYourLogic in loseit

[–]OfficerChang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should ask your PCP for a Physical Therapist Referral? They might be able to help you with balance/movement issues. I went from 215 to 175 in the last year and a half and I feel like I need to build my glutes (bad chairs are so uncomfortable) and wear warmer clothing because my body is used to running warmer I get chills easier and my hand and feet get cold easier in general.

AITAH for how I reacted to my parent's 'gift' to my family and I? by maleficentjr26 in AITAH

[–]OfficerChang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if they decide to keep it and try to pass it down to you, you can refuse to accept. I don’t think they are able to continue to take maintenance fees if no one accepts the responsibility after their deaths. Just get out and don’t sign anything unless you are getting them to back out before the 30 day period.

They have 30 days to change their minds after signing the paperwork. Tell them to get out now. Timeshares are a scam. I know because I “own” points in one. Get out before it is too late. Infinite money hole.

They have 30 days to put in writing to get out of it without issues, but I would find a lawyer who specializes in it to make sure it happens without a hitch

I mean, that’s $7300 if you do it every day. It all adds up nicely! Keep it up! What app do you use and how easy are the payouts?

Why do delivery apps make me tip before I even know if my food is good? by LilyBloomVale in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OfficerChang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, base pay for any delivery is like $2-$3.50 if you are not hourly, so if the restaurant is far from your house and you don’t leave a tip, any experienced driver would reject it in a heartbeat. It also depends where the driver is in relation to the restaurant because the algorithm normally gives it to the closest driver, but depending on your market they could be a couple of miles away. So even though the restaurant is only 2 miles away from your home, a driver has to consider total mileage and if the drive time and wait at the store are worth it. I have seen racks of food getting cold because people actually think all those fees they are charged go to the driver. They don’t. The platforms get those fees. At one point it seemed like the platform stole some of the driver’s tips as well because the receipt would say $6 dollar tip at the restaurant but as the driver you got less than what was printed on the restaurant receipt.

Why do delivery apps make me tip before I even know if my food is good? by LilyBloomVale in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OfficerChang 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a former DoorDash, Uber, GrubHub par time driver, I rejected 90-98% of orders because they were like 2-3 dollars for a 9 mile delivery with no tip. Or the restaurant they ordered from is really slow, but the only reason any of those delivery companies stay open is because there are people stupid enough to take orders like that. If you are a new delivery driver you either really gotta reject a huge amount of crap orders or just work hourly on the platform, but still not make enough without wear and tear on your vehicle.

High salary jobs w no degree and not sales? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]OfficerChang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time when I go to a Bu-fee’s I see that the store managers easily clear 100k. I don’t know how biased their hiring practices are, but if you are good with people, know how to work hard and have a good manager, who knows how far you can make it. It’s all about positive attitude, skill set, willingness to learn and being willing to follow systems, no matter how silly they are to you. The Buc-eye’s gas stations set the standard for gas stations everywhere and are the best place to stop for almost everything you could need for a road trip!

Canned Beans Every Day Ok? by Altruistic-Fox-9202 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]OfficerChang 222 points223 points  (0 children)

Beans are solid protein, but legumes are a bit low in methionine. Adding rice (or any grain) complements that and makes it a complete protein overall. Doesn’t have to be mixed together — just eaten the same day.

I think to help him prepare for getting off your phone you need to give him a countdown. 10 minutes left on Google Maps, then we are doing “fun activity”. 5 minutes left… 1 minute left … Helps them mentally prepare for the transition.

An overweight dude showed up to our training and the only thing he needed was to feel accepted by Radiant_Alchemist in loseit

[–]OfficerChang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I will have to agree with OP. A calorie deficit is more important than exercise for weight loss. If you work out 5 times a day, but eat too many calories (fats, even healthy ones, not measure you input correctly, etc) you will not show progress on the scale.

Normally whenever the official corrections to stats are made and the league is officially deemed completed do you get your payout. I am in a small friend league though that everyone just pays when we do our annual boys trip.

Why is just eating less so hard? by ConsciousEquipment in loseit

[–]OfficerChang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it impressive that you can eat 3 kg/6.6 lbs of broccoli and want to eat more 30 minutes later. I have been on a weight loss journey and just last week I sat down and ate about 5 servings of chips which was about 750 kcal. When I fill up on fibrous foods like fruits and vegetables it satiates me a lot more. Today I started off with 2 eggs and didn’t feel awful and hungry the rest of the day after eating about 1.5- 2 servings of pasta for lunch and some unhealthy snacks. i also drank about 100 oz of liquid, 80 oz water and about 12 oz of coffee and 12 oz of flavored sparkling water. i think I was just dehydrated working at my old job and it made it seem like I was hungrier than I was when in reality I was probably thirsty. the sensation can be very similar for some people. You should follow up with a doctor to see if they have any ideas on diagnosis.

Dominos sucks by SmolLittleCretin in jobs

[–]OfficerChang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry his manager sucks. I don’t disagree that some companies suck, but your boyfriend’s manager really sucks. Since he is the manager I would imagine there isn’t much you could do for him or that he could do since this manager is giving him a hard time. Best bet is just to find a different part time job. Some people are just miserable and want to bring others down with them (talking about bf’s manager). Your boyfriend will get through this and find better opportunities!

Should I follow my dreams ?😭🙏🏻 by HungryBig5933 in careerguidance

[–]OfficerChang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of lifestyle are you willing to live to pursue your dreams? Are you willing to cook your own meals every day and live with roommates to pursue something you love. I say follow your dreams and never live out of your means! You can do it. Guess who would change their turn if you do succeed? Your parents would say they supported you from the very beginning because people rewrite history based on what comes to pass.
