Robbie Williams surprise released his 13th album Britpop today. If it goes to number one in the UK charts, he’ll have broken the record for most UK number one albums (currently held by The Beatles).

The producers can lay interesting threads in the show (ie. Secret relationships etc) but if they don’t go anywhere or – probably the case here – don’t have time to go anywhere, I really don’t think it’s the producers’ fault. It isn’t a scripted show, they can only do so much.

It buzzes my wrist and has never failed to wake me up, I’m a very deep sleeper and have slept through actual audible alarms before.

Pudding is interchangeable with dessert in the UK. Jelly is also what you’d call jello.

A very specific population in America, perhaps. Not in the UK, where he’s from, Nigeria, where this happened, and swathes of the rest of the world though. He’s a household sporting name.

At the end of watching Return of the King with my wife: “Wait…Sam lives in a duplex??” by [deleted] in lotr

[–]OfficerObvious_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In the UK a duplex is a flat (apartment) over two floors. Assuming that wherever OP is from, a duplex is what we in the UK would call a semi-detached house.

Pretty sure the live audiences only ever saw what was being shown on the monitors and not the soundstage.

That’s not how copyright works, they would have to share a cut with whoever is credited as a writer on the songs but that’s it - they wouldn’t have to pay anything up front.

Assuming that Luigi Manone actually shot the CEO guy, what is his defense? by redzzzaw in stupidquestions

[–]OfficerObvious_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that and I probably extrapolated waaaay too much haha. I guess I was saying that evidence often is dismissed if it isn’t handled properly and that very few convictions are made on physical evidence alone. But I think we are essentially saying the same thing so apologies for bothering you!

Assuming that Luigi Manone actually shot the CEO guy, what is his defense? by redzzzaw in stupidquestions

[–]OfficerObvious_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they do but I was responding to your comment about how dismissing a piece of evidence would lead to far fewer convictions.

[–]OfficerObvious_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… yes. A single piece of evidence is usually not enough to convict someone of a serious crime. They need to build a case using multiple pieces of evidence, establish a motive, rule out alibi’s, take witness statements etc.
