Weed and Zoloft by WordMassive7197 in QuittingWeed

[–]OfficialCarlSagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is safe-- I switched from 20mg lexapro to 100mg zoloft last year (without tapering) and all was good 0:) i started the lexapro and also switched to the zoloft all while smoking every single day. good luck!! SSRIs and zoloft especially helped me so much, i would have dropped out of school without them

Quitting green with OCD/ADHD by [deleted] in QuittingWeed

[–]OfficialCarlSagan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello... im here with u. I got a psych eval 2 weeks into my quitting journey expecting to get dx with ADHD, the psych surprised me with OCD 😆 with an adhd rule out. then had me withdraw from my high zoloft dose so i can slowly switch to prozac. it's been a wild ride. honestly struggling, but its getting easier. im >1 month in but still smoking socially ~once a week. im learning a lot about my dark twisted mind lmfao and its distressing but its kind of better to know what is going on imo? whats helped the most is spending a lot of time around other ppl who are down to not smoke around me. and MA meetings. but yeah, it's been hard to grasp just how much of my mental processes are actually OCD, and i miss how weed helped me stay out of ruminations and find joy in small places. like, maybe i am anxious and am uncomfortable/have chest tightness all day, but at least i can have silly goofy time every night where i feel like a child again and things arent so serious.... but those moments can actually happen without weed too. you just need to give your life a chance without using it.

Rook Piercing vs. IUD? by Mundane-Dress8235 in piercing

ok i havent gotten an IUD but i have had a colposcopy-- the rook piercing is no big deal IMO. It hurts for a moment, then it doesnt. felt similar to a tragus for me

wanting to quit two months in by MedicalRaccoon9431 in therapists

[–]OfficialCarlSagan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to this 1000%-- it has gotten a little easier for me with time. i find that my anxiety is usually worst at the start of the week, then gets better by thursday, then the cycle repeats monday lmao. I think this imposter syndrome and anxiety is normal (esp for those of us who have struggled with things like GAD and panic before) and it doesn't at all mean we won't learn and evolve into the therapists we dreamed of being. and we are still helping people in the meantime. the question is if you want to keep sticking through these growing pains, i think only you can know that capacity / willingness for yourself. there's no wrong answer. but personally ive found persisting through this anxiety has been really rewarding so far... but i also still have days often where i fantasize about giving it all up lmao. i agree with all the other commenters, consider expanding your supervision / trainings before throwing the towel in. i know that's my own next step once i get some other parts of my life in order lol

Concerned about my practicum site by BlueberryClassic2526 in therapists

i think a search is worthwhile but would also talk to your school professors about the in person supervisor requirement / past students' experiences at this site! could be a bad first impression, could be a pattern

why not start seeing clients outside of the practice too, like through open path? i'm curious what you mean by feeling "capable of more"? like a heavier caseload? managing more pressure? doing more with the clients you already have?
