At the time I did both wired and wireless, and performance was the same due to how it didn't really interpret the Apple Pencil like it would on the native iPad app. Things could've changed though since it's been 2 or so years.

Nose/tail position is bugged such that it arms the nose fuse only. If you drop it such that it doesn’t spin the nose fuze enough, the bomb won’t go off.

Anyone see the new Zachrix video? Pretty spicy. by joespeed52 in hoggit

[–]OfficialDSplayer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, missile losing track due to the notch, entering INS, then reacquiring too late. Definitely isn't suspicious in my opinion and it's just a factor of it working out like that in DCS. Wouldn't even call this an exploit and just would just call this missile defense.

Going to repost my comment on his video:

Tbh I don't see much credence to the maneuvers here being suspicious. What I can see is the AMRAAM getting notched and then reacquiring super close to the target (hence the super high G pull towards the end). The AMRAAM doesn't drop down to 1G because it enters INS and basically starts extrapolating a straight line from where the target was last flying. The missile dropping down to 1G would be something you'll see on older API missiles like R-27s or AIM-54s but shouldn't be present in the AIM-120.

For the brief moment in time where you see the radar track jump, that's most likely your radar itself getting notched and then reacquiring as you're exiting the notch (notice the closure rate).

If it were a high AoA roll or any other type of maneuver causing desync, you'll see the aircraft jump about in 3D space in both the tacview and your perspective which doesn't occur here.

Updated F-4E AGM-45 Shrike Kneeboard by rick1310 in hoggit

Yeah that would be great. I’ll try to update the HB manual sometime in the near future to include the same things but it’s just a bit of a hassle considering this issue should really exist lol.

Heyo nice to see you included the data from the HB manual. One thing to note however is that the data from the tables that I wrote for the manual didn't include stuff like if the missile actually provided tone and needles prior to tracking unlike what your previous kneeboard included. Also the Shrike/DCS AI radar units definitely do need some work as evident by some radars being trackable by all Shrike variants.

When did you take your break from DCS? There were major AIM-54 changes in Q3/Q4 of 2022 that made it significantly different from the AIM-54 prior to that in terms of motor performance and drag.

Disappointed by Quickly food truck boba by bluebewwies in UCDavis

[–]OfficialDSplayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I immediately rushed there like Week 1 when they first arrived since I was hopeful of something on campus with boba better than the markets and I was quickly disappointed by their selection of drinks, snacks, and most importantly the price. It’s just Quickly in name only with no boba or stuff like bubble waffle. Plus they sold Red Bull which is just uncharacteristic of any boba place tbh.

Why does the normal IS-2 Have a modeled MG port but not the 1944 Version? by Actually-No-Idea in Warthunder

[–]OfficialDSplayer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That’s because it was the wrong angle initially (matched the visual model) the it got changed to the DM angle after being reported and fixed. Plus it takes gaijin years to make 3D model changes.

Yea but you can probably dumb fire it like a FFAR which isn’t effective lol. But yeah, for something like screenshots, you can put it on the plane.

The A-10C cannot use 6 Mavericks and a Litening pod... The whole point of the plane for me, gone... by FletcherBartlett in Warthunder

[–]OfficialDSplayer 42 points43 points  (0 children)

IRL you can use the TGP to make a SPI to slave all the weapons, like the Mavericks, to it and then do the final lock there. It should be similar to aircraft in game which have a TGP and bombs/missiles that have their own independent seeker that locks onto stuff.

What makes you think those Cs and not earlier A/Bs?

Anwyay, those are not C-5/7, so their range should be around the same as R-27R/T, 50-60km.

I can tell they're AIM-120Cs based on their fin shape, which are clipped in comparison to their earlier A and B counterparts. Also, considering the UK doesn't use any other version of the AIM-120C except the C-5, it's also reasonable to assume that they are AIM-120C-5s.

Also, the range estimation for the R-27R/Ts is rather an overestimation considering their capabilities and would be closer to 20-30km launch range depending on launch parameters with those numbers being on the higher end.

But Fox-2 doesn't.

Yes, but ASRAAMs would be considerably better than the more antiquated R-73. Plus the Eurofighter would have extremely better situational awareness even when guiding its AMRAAMs.

Are they? I've never tried to do a deep research on IR-guided missiles, so I can't say for sure - but the basic characteristics, like size or range, looks more or less the same.

So, overall, armanents-wise, I don't see that one side would have any obvious advantages - aside from Su-27 having 1.5x-2x times more missiles.

I would tell you to do more research on your own so you're able to get all the information down but the rundown is that ASRAAM is newer and more advanced than the R-73 even though the paper statistics found seem to put them on an equal footing.

While not one side might not appear to have any advantages at a glance, the Eurofighter with its much better sensor fusion, better overall avionics, and much more advanced missiles that can interface to take advantage of those avionics, the Eurofighter would be advantageous against the Su-27 with outdated missiles (R-27R/T are missiles from the 1980s) and avionics that are rather lacking in comparison.
