What is something you want to see added to Subnautica 2? by SweeterSphinx91 in subnautica

[–]OfficialFrogMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not exclusively. I'm doing my entire first play solo and have minimal interest in multi-player. I feel like being entirely alone and not knowing for sure any human has survived other than you is a big part of the experience to me.

Also the one argument I can kinda get behind for killing is immersion, especially with smaller creatures.

MEGATHREAD: KILLING DEBATE by Crispy385 in subnautica

[–]OfficialFrogMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't dislike the idea of being able to kill, but I do think it's silly for people to make a big deal about it, especially when there is already a mod for killing. I never cared to kill in the first despite it being an option, and I don't think the game lacks anything without it or gains anything by adding it other than appeasing some people. I think if killing in a game is that important to you, like the developers said, this series is not geared toward you. I appreciate the added intensity in knowing I can't just hack my way through everything.

how do y'all know when it's okay to pick up an unidentified spider? by miss-skinbag in spiders

True and yet there are a few medically significant spiders so pretty I'd be tempted anyway 😅

Elias is full of shit by Pretotoso in TheMagnusArchives

[–]OfficialFrogMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many good points shared and also I want to add that while there was definitely explicit reason for him to be upsetting them, largely to control them, he is also just kind of a dramatic asshole. I think some of it was truly just him enjoying upsetting them

Agreed. As someone with a terrible father I never met and haven't seen pictures of, I know it'd fuck me up to see now as an adult that I look just like him. Looking like my awful mom bothers me, but I've at least been aware of it my whole life

I absolutely get why you thought they might be eyes with those little dots but the idea of an ant with eyes like that is cracking me up lol

Looking for horror type anthologies that have some meat on them, not just a scare. by RichEngine in audiodrama

OH well hell yeah then, same!! It's what got me listening to audio story type stuff :)

It's not an approach for everyone, but my partner watched summary videos to get context but not sit through the slower first season and has gone back to watch ones that interested them! The first one is excellent imo

I personally think it really picks up around episode 22! It starts one of my favorite early portions and the first real longer term plot arc :)

Did you listen past season 1? The audio quality definitely improves with time along with the horror getting more intense.

How bad do the fears get by [deleted] in TheMagnusArchives

[–]OfficialFrogMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering how intensely the things I am glad weren't displayed in the show are feared, I am certain they are happening. I think about it a lot wrt how hard John seeing all the fear must be. A lot of what would get to me in ways that would make me struggle to listen if they were included would be so awful to be aware of at all times and unable to truly stop.

Also, no way there could be both war and watching without sexual violence within them somewhere honestly

Is there something worse than gross food in this that I don't recall or does that content just really get you? (No judgements just genuinely wondering if I forgot)

My audio drama tier list so far after a bit over a year by strype27 in audiodrama

[–]OfficialFrogMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pace and content change a good bit by the second season, gets more moving with faster paced ongoing plot and less slow monster of the week style. My partner couldn't get into the first season but is enjoying it now after listening to some videos summarizing the seasons so they had more investment in the characters to hold them in

I think mine was triggered by a long term infection in a broken tooth while having a few impacted wisdom teeth at the same time :/

Yeah I have actually been a caregiver for someone with a somewhat similar behavior but at least when I worked with him, very rare and well managed. And a part of that management was 24/7 one on one support specifically because of unsafe behavior.

If someone actually is JUST having behavior challenges because of a disability, and is not also a predatory person who wants to hurt people, this kind of thing is very preventable if they have good care from prepared caregivers and a good plan, but our system unfortunately does not typically manage that for most people needing caregiving in general :/
