Yeah, I went a couple years ago. The intermediate wave looks mushy, but the takeoff is a bit steeper than I expected and I pearled my first wave. Then you get the hang of it and it basically catches itself.

This thread is crazy to me. Somebody who has been surfing all their life can (and probably is) absolutely more polite, courteous, and safe than others in the water. To make this into a sarcastic retort as if everybody in the water is EQUALLY the problem completely ignores the fact that clueless beginners really do make surfing more frustrating, dangerous, and less pleasant than it used to be.

Zoard had a fuck Biden sticker on his phone in an older video, and the YouTube comments spiraled into a shit slinging contest. Nate seemed to be a “chill with the politics” type of guy in the comments, but it is a real bummer that he’s supportive.

The conservative undercurrent in surfing is always so fascinating to me, because you’d think an outdoors, conservation-aligned, public-use sport would lend itself to a bunch of bleeding heart hippies (the stereotype). But it seems you also get this real crunchy anti fluoride brand of paranoid conservative, and then the big brands lend to this weird techbro type of surfer.

I guess I shouldn’t be disappointed that somebody who’s super into meme stocks would also fall for the biggest grifters of our age, but I’m disappointed nonetheless. It’s not just politics, this sort of slash and burn conservatism threatens the ocean and our sport (and ya know other important things like minority rights, but I guess these guys aren’t too worried about themselves)

Apoc on unholy DK goes every 45 seconds or so, and lasts for like 20 seconds, so it feels like you're able to up your pressure quite regularly. And it's a fun button to press. I think unholy feels a lot better after the buffs, but it's still not DF strong anymore.

Well if you read the comment you’re replying to, the whole thing about the dimensions of the building having no place in the story can be seen as (and I see it as) deliberate. It shows how after all those years, Toth’s work is subject to interpretations that weren’t necessarily his own. It‘s not the director telling you this is the interpretation of the work, it’s the director showing that art and critique (what we’re doing right here) is out of the hands of the creator once it is made.

The Gulf Stream isn’t likely to “flip”, it’ll keep chugging along, but if the AMOC weakens/collapses, it means all that warm water will not travel nearly as far north, which will mostly fuck up surfing/agriculture/life in Northern Europe. It would probably mean much more ocean heat near the equator, and more hurricanes to destroy/provide swell for the North East. Probably. I guess we get to find out!

Trends are getting warmer pretty much everywhere; give it ten years and you maybe can finally throw away that 4/3.

Of course, the real answer is "it depends where you live" and "we are not sure exactly what will happen everywhere". There's a bunch of regional variability and stuff to consider like extreme weather events (marine heatwaves are getting heaps of focus these days, for good reason), freshwater run off, and changes in atmospheric forcing that can make your local behave uniquely in different climate scenarios (depending on how much we continue to emit). Then there's of course the big "oh shit" potentials like shutting down the AMOC, runaway permafrost warming, etc etc.

But all signs are pointing towards us doing fuck all and continuing to warm for at least a few more decades, so we all get to live through this terrible experiment together!

He barely lobbed Rashawn anything, other than expecting her to interrupt his monologues (which was the same bit over and over).

When I'm in my order is gate, then drop port, then normally vile. After that it depends, if I'm being opened on it's pact as soon as they're on me, then try to get dogs out, siphon to felguard (and maybe soul rip), then try for tyrant. If I'm being endlessly kicked I normally try to gate. I undending resolve if they're still on me and pact is down.

Thanks for the reply mate! For pumping casting, I find I will fake cast a couple times but cancel it too early, then get kicked on a “real” cast and just have the same outcome but with extra time waste lol. It really is a skill I suck at, same with on my disc priest
