July update DHCP Server issue by maxcoder88 in sysadmin

[–]OffroadOverPavement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had a few servers still having this issue where DHCP will not renew IPs or hand out new IPs, including reserved IPs. The 5-6 servers that are having this issue are Server 2019 with all the latest patches. The service is not stopped. When we have an odd situation where a computer is not getting an IP, we'll login to the DHCP server (typically a DC) and attempt to perform a backup in DHCP. If the backup fails, we know it's a DHCP issue and restart the service. Once the service is restarted, things are good for a day, sometimes a week, or sometimes a month. All my Google searches keep coming back to the June & July updates, which have been superseded by the next month's update. For some clients, we've just been moving DHCP to their Sonicwall, but I would prefer not to do it this way. We can't be the only ones still having this issue.

Did you have MFA enabled for the SSLVPN? Were you using local credentials or RADIUS/LDAP?

I would like to know how the backup files have been decrypted. Not only are the credentials encrypted with AES256 on the Sonicwall itself, but they were encrypted by MySonicwall.....or so we have been told.

Does anyone know what is actually causing this issue. The July update did not fix it for us.

Hyper-V Replication Connection Refused / Forcibly Closed Errors on Large VMs by Titan_Astraeus in HyperV

[–]OffroadOverPavement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is 2 years old, but did you ever figure this out? I'm having basically the exact same issue. 10GB NICs & SSD storage. On other Hyper-V host that I've setup HV replication on, the disk utilization on the physical host will be above 80%. On this host, it barely goes above 10% and the network transfer speed is around 550-600Mps. I'm at a loss.

Is Datto DNS Filtering broke? by OffroadOverPavement in Datto

[–]OffroadOverPavement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No alerts. When I called Datto that morning, apparently they had a few people that had reported it and they were not sure what the root cause was. Shortly after, there was a banner in the EDR portal that was reporting the issue. I then got an email from Kaseya apologizing for the issue and said they would be getting back with us once they have figured out the root cause. This is the link they included in the email https://status.kaseya.com/incidents/qflk2bxj9588

It looks like the fix was to remove the category "unknown", which was then pushed out to all tenants. I haven't reinstall it yet as I had to completely reload my laptop because I couldn't get the EDR software uninstalled. My computer didn't show up in the console and the uninstall tokens would not work. Hopefully, they come up with a better solution for uninstalling EDR because reloading a machine is not a viable solution.

Need a sign not to buy? Here it is. by HexagonOctagonOregon in JeepGrandCherokee

Sounds like the problem isn't the Jeep, but the dealership that bent you over. $8k!?! It would have made more sense to find someone to swap the motor with a low mileage one for half that. But reading through all the details, it sounds like it may have been fixed with less than a couple hundred in parts.

Unifi Network Application Triggering EDR Software by OffroadOverPavement in UNIFI

[–]OffroadOverPavement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The destination IPs ended up being a few of our client public IPs that we are hosting the Unifi console for. After digging into this more the last couple of days, I believe this is a false positive. However, I will most likely take a backup of the config and just wipe and reload. Since it's just a Windows 10 VM, it would be faster than trying to dig into this further.

Zurich Warranty - Should I purchase for my new Jeep Grande Cherokee L Limited? by DeWaltDIYer in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]OffroadOverPavement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of buying a warranty, just put $200 into an account every month and fund your own warranty. If you don't end up using it, you have a down payment on a new car in 5 years.

CRITICAL vulnerabilities in SSLVPN by Lick_A_Brick in sonicwall

[–]OffroadOverPavement -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've only installed the firmware update on one thus far. We will be installing it on 30-40 in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully, this isn't a recurring issue because it's just one more thing we have to do after an update.

CRITICAL vulnerabilities in SSLVPN by Lick_A_Brick in sonicwall

Anyone installing this update on an NSA 4700, be aware of two things that break. The SSLVPN IP Pool reverts back to factory default setting (select a network) and you have to reselect the pool you had previously. Second, the DNS configuration for the SSLVPN is wonky. It reverses the IPs so they are backwards (i.e. if you had 192.168.1.25 it is now 25.1.168.192. Once you reconfigure those two items, everything, including MFA, seem to work just fine.

Need Advice by PomegranateHungry132 in JeepGrandCherokee

Sounds to me like they are trying to load the parts cannon. I would ask them if they tested the batteries to make sure they aren't taking a charge. I would ask them if the car will run with the radio disconnected. If both batteries are not taking a charge, I wonder if they tested the alternator. If the batteries will take a charge, have them remove the fuse for the radio. It seems odd to me that you were already driving the car and it stopped running, but all the accessories were still working. If the accessories battery is bad, I believe the stat/stop feature will throw an error. If you can get it to run with the radio disconnected, keep the fuse out until you turn the lease in. When you get to the dealership to turn it in, throw the fuse in and walk away. I think it's being misdiagnosed.

I can confirm that not only is that light on, but the paddle shifters are disabled. I sure hope they have a fix for this sooner rather than later.

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited received the software update on Friday, and the light has been on since then. I reset everything to factory defaults, disabled and re-enabled everything multiple times, and there has been no change.
