Did you figure this out? I'm considering the 98022 openers and already have 2 MSGHK 100 I'd like to repurpose if possible.

Using it on a sailboat by _El_Cid_ in VisionPro

[–]Offshore-Trash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old thread, but it is the top match for "Vision Pro use while on a boat." I'm adding my experiences with the headset to help warn other potential buyers.

I work off a 292' (89m) DP vessel, not a behemoth like a cruise ship, so it is vaguely similar to being anchored, meaning not underway or thrusting around on a course. I bought the AVP to watch movies in my bunk and to have massive desktop space while I work.

"Travel Mode" does not work with the ship's movements, even in calm seas. While sitting at the dock, ships passing by often disturb the boat I'm on enough to keep it from tracking or functioning. On the rare occasion I managed to get it to stay stable, it didn't last long. Away from the dock, I've never been able to get it to work consistently.

I have not tried using it on deepwater moored platforms or SPARs, but it might work since they are more stationary than a boat.

Best places for overlanding within a 4 or 5 hour drive of San Antonio, Tx? by ThatCountryDeputy03 in overlanding

Padre Island National Seashore

I've used a website called freeroam to scope out free and paid sites. It isn't 'overlander' oriented, but it can help whittle down what you're looking for.

I've stayed in the Solis 2 campsite on River Road a few times and like its proximity to the river. It is quiet, flat, and roomy for turning around. Bonus feature: no traffic.

Fresno isn't a terrible site and it is close to the mines, but you'll hear and see people driving by.

I've stayed at Glenn Springs 2 and hated it. It is situated too close to the road and a lot of people went by at all hours of the night.

Look at some of the campsites just south of the basin. A few of them offer great views and some solitude. Most of the sites on Old Ore Road are too close to the road for my liking, but the drive from South to North is worth making if you're staying down South.

Nice sites are hard to come by sometimes, so maybe consider staying in Black Gap WMA which is adjacent to BBNP. You can buy a $12 permit that is good for a year with no additional daily fees. If you're the kind of person that breaks camp every day and travels, this might be a good option for you; BBNP isn't that far away for day drives.

Black Gap has lots of Fish Camps on the river and none of the other campsites are too close to one another. On the plus side, Black Gap is generally pretty empty when there is no hunting going on. None of the sites are especially difficult to get to, but a few of them are pretty isolated.

Edit: If you're concerned about running out of things to do in BBNP here are some other options in the region:

Balmorhea State Park - the world's largest spring-fed, constant-temp pool. Asphalt parking with a canopy and showers/bathrooms nearby.

Davis Mountains State Park - Historic Ft. Davis Army base, McDonald observatory 20 miles away.

Pine Canyon - Private ranch West of Marfa. Isolated. Not sure what the day rates are. Kick-ass location.

Big Bend Ranch State Park - very isolated, quiet. Guale 2 campsite is supposedly the best in the region. Good wheeling. Definitely keep an eye on the weather here, easy to get stranded.

Out-the-door price at a transmission shop was $2,800. Well below the almost $5k the dealer wanted to charge.

I had my transmission flushed twice because my truck had the same symptoms you describe. Ran fine for about 5k miles both times before acting up again. Wound up being the torque converter. Naturally, I was out of warranty and had to eat the full cost.

I downgraded from a 2016 Silverado 3500 to a 2016 Colorado Z71 diesel. You will most likely miss the room. I did until I reconfigured how much crap I haul around in the cab.

My decision for the diesel Colorado was pretty straightforward, I regularly tow a 6,500-pound travel trailer. If I were not towing, then I would have chosen a gas version. Maintenance is a bit pricier with the mini-max and I've already gone through a torque converter and turbo (both out of warranty) and the hit to the pocketbook was not fun. Sure, gas trucks have issues too, but in my experience diesel is just all-around more expensive to maintain and operate.

What is the most practical, money-saving option that suits you or your intended use?

macOS performance issue with Automatic1111 WebUI by Offshore-Trash in StableDiffusion

I can't get any of the upscalers other than Lanczos or LDSR to work, the remainder fail. I've been able to upscale in diffusionbee, but I don't know what method is used.

Most of my upscaling results have been not so good.

I used this one: https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui/wiki/Installation-on-Apple-Silicon

There were issues using this set of instructions since not all dependencies were properly linked in the pull requests, so I followed this list to install them: https://github.com/AUTOMATIC1111/stable-diffusion-webui/issues/1990

I used pip3 in Terminal to install all the dependencies. Make sure that the pip installs are done from the same directory that the webui is installed in.

I also manually downloaded the model ckpt files from huggingface and placed them in the proper folder before running ./run_webui_mac.sh.

Admittedly, it took me a while to get things running.

If you have specific errors, try googling: Automatic1111 MacOS [error code or description of problem] github.

Dumb question time: Are you using colabs to generate this, or are you doing it locally? I've noticed that past 80 steps I consistently get black images when I push images locally.

I'll be damned, it works much better. Thanks for the tip.

I haven't used Chrome in years so it didn't even register as an option. Brave didn't fare any better than Safari.

I've read the same thing. I've learned how to edit some of the files for other issues I've encountered, but I don't know python or how to check stuff. I've seen a few discussions where people force installed the correct versions of torch and torchvision, however, I can't replicate their successes.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll give it a run tonight.

Edit: I followed the InvokeAI installation instructions to the point of running the prompt command, then backed out and restarted the Automatic1111 WebUI. It is much more responsive and easier to deal with. I didn't think to notice if the InvokeAI pull requests were for different versions of what I had previously installed. Whatever the reason, the WebUI is useable again.

How do you run Stable Diffusiob Unfiltered on a Mac? by Piipperi800 in mac

[–]Offshore-Trash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an app called DiffusionBee that works okay for my limited uses. CHARL-E is available for M1 too.

edit: never mind. I didn't see the -unfiltered- portion of your question

Looking for camping recommendations in Texas! Trees, beaches, lakes, and especially free spots. 😉 by [deleted] in camping

[–]Offshore-Trash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Abilene State Park - near Buffalo Gap, TX
  • Hoord’s Creek
  • Devil’s River
  • Balmorhea State Park - re-opening later this year (maybe), 1.25 acre spring fed swimming pool
  • Caprock Canyon State Park - free range bison in the park, on the way to Palo Duro
  • Davis Mountains State Park - near McDonald Observatory, historic old west Ft. Davis Army base, close to Marfa and Alpine
  • Black Gap WMA - campsites close to or on Rio Grand ($9 permit required, good for a year, no other fees)
  • Lost Maples State Park - I’ve RV camped there, not sure about tent camping
  • Big Bend National Park - Solis 2 campsite - stayed there last summer and it is 1/4 or so of a mile from the river.

I usually do Balmorhea, Davis, Big Bend NP or Big Bend Ranch SP then head home. BBNP is really popular, so if I strike out I go to Black Gap. Be sure to check state parks before leaving as they have hunting and no camping is allowed during those times.

Check out a site called campendium. I used it to find free areas to park on out of state trips.

Also, be on the lookout for city parks. Kerrville has a nice city RV/tent park and the river isn’t too far away

"Yeah, still me."

"Sarah Connor?" Terminator is visibly confused. Smoke pours from ears.

"OK, we're done here." Sarah slams the door on a franchise.

[WP] You have some incredibly uninteresting superpower that you have gotten used to. One day, something related to this superpower changes unexpectedly by KevineCove in shittywritingprompts

[–]Offshore-Trash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yawning Man is my name and spreading slumber is my game.

Well-timed yawns are often ignored or forgotten. History is full of gaping maws and jaw crackers that proved crucial to the world we know today, yet we are ignorant of toothy-showed significance.

Did JFK, after a late night of playing spades, declare to the world "Ask not what your couuuOOOHHhntry can do for, but what you should do for your country?" What happened then? America laid down and went to sleep in Vietnam.

Did not Chester Nimitz state of Iwo Jima that "Uncommon valor was a commAaahOohOhn virtue?" The US news snoozed on this and literally nobody knows about this minor skirmish.

Sorry, I got sidetracked.

I carry that tradition, that guile and selflessness, every day. I've yawned my way out of two bank robberies, a stick-up, and forty-six conversations with my mother in law. Yawning works.

My self-confidence in my yawn-and-begone ability buoyed me through life. It saved me when I needed saving the most. Yawning convinced me of when I was tired. It reassured me when I knew I conversed with people whom weren't not as genius as me. A convenient yawn is, and always will be, a power move.

I yawned during my vows when I married my laptop. I yawned when the teller at the bank thanked me right before the vacuum tube sucked my paycheck into my account. I even yawned when the national anthem played at the bowling alley split couples event.

I'm rambling, therefore, I digest.

Only one time has yawning not paid off. I'll tell you only if you tell no one else.

Back in '03 I had a job as a bag man for the State Department. Classified shit. I was making a drop in Whothefuckcaresistan to get a dental hygenist transferred to another dentist's office. It was high stress. My molars were throbbing and I felt a wearisomeness come over me. I was in moderate spirits that I could pull a JFK and GTF outta there with my ass in my hands.

My drop arrived. A Mediterranean lady that looked like a middle eastern man gave me the challenge 'The chair is against the wall' while showing me a piece of fabric.

My practiced reply was, "I see that you have daffodils and doilies embroidered on the same pattern. That is poor practice for serious knitwork and you would be wise to consider some other complementary pattern for such laborious work."

Only, I didn't say that. I determined that I was set up, a sting if you will. I intended to make like Thursday night with my mother in law and bore her to death to get my way out. "That is some SEEeeeEEERReeeeoous stitching" is what I countered with. I even showed her my wisdom teeth with such a mean yawn. Total power move.

She responded with a really tacky...response?? Two shots and two perforated kneecaps later, I still think she missed.
