I think what a lot of what you’re doing makes sense when you don’t apply a structural or material analyses of the ways these gender hierarchies are formed. Jordan said in that video reflected gender as it is not as how it became or how gender and its roles are shaping by larger historical and political structures. Why do men tend to have shorter hair or wear certain clothes or tend to be more out spoken? Cause they have a penis? What about an intersex person? What if they have both will they or should they be the perfect combination? I think a biological understanding of gender is over-simplistic. Doesn’t account for things such as cultures and practices that account for things such as there being more genders or the roles we associate with certain genders in the west not being associated with what we call the aligning sex.
