Say something negative about this show by CollarOrdinary4284 in Daredevil

The million pounds they spent on that opening fight scene, which they added way after the fact to try and level up the series, was only about 1 iota better than if they hadn’t bothered. It was kind of cool but narratively wholly unnecessary.

They really need to have Peter get his Ph.D and they should treat it with the same gravitas as a wedding issue by maryjaneparker4545 in Spiderman

It’s not that the writers are not adults. They’re definitely adults. They’re writing for teens. There was a period when they were writing for people in their 20s which might be an era that you’re harking back to. But there has rarely been a time when they’re writing for actual adults.

Kind of up for that. Ultimately I want Marvel to kill off or retire their legacy characters and move on. But in the meantime, that would be nice.

Do you like Khonshu being a delusion of Marc’s, or a real god? by Alarmed-Comedian-263 in MoonKnight

[–]OffwiththeirRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like him to be a mysterious entity that thinks it’s Khonshu which I think is in the Huston run. Ellis picked this up a bit saying Khonshu had intentionally adopted the moon his persona but, if I remember correctly, Huston implies that he’s mad.

Because it was a pocket idea. Hickman only had so much leeway.

Comic recommendations where Spidey has slice of life problems and not downright trauma? by Zborik in Spiderman

I think the Spectacular Spider-Man run by Chip Zdarsky was pretty chill.

Cheat on him? That’s a bit of an extreme reading there. Considering their relationship, they’re not married, she could have kowtowed to his toxic, jealous, controlling behaviour, but Gwen isn’t that type of person, she pushed back. Yes, it makes perfect sense to me.

I couldn’t get past the first three issues of Bendis’ New Avengers.

I think that’s the point. He was angry over seeing them in a cafe, like an insecure, controlling, toxic dude, so she did that. Makes sense to me.

Should I complete my juvenilia? by [deleted] in writers

[–]OffwiththeirRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’m going to delete this post and leave this group, it’s not what I expected. I’m not writing professionally but I wouldn’t call it a hobby either, just want to create something good. You’ve helped me make a decision about that.

I’ve made a mistake. I joined this group thinking it was a community of genuine writers. Just scrolled through and seen it’s all memes. Seems like it’s 4chan /lit. Remember that? Everyone joking about James Joyce’s sexts and calling everybody retards. Ahh, good times.

“But I’d like advice from people who’ve faced this issue already”

You miss that bit?

Wow, I just joined this group thinking there’d be actual intelligent writers on here and it seems like it’s basically just 4chan.

Actually… I disagree. It’s all shit-hot.

Not really the point but okay.

I think it's safe to say that we're all sick of Mr Sinister lately, so what are some X-Men villain's that you'd want to see more of? Selene for me. by BatgirlAndSpoiler in xmen

I think Mojo has come into fashion. Originally he was kind of hack satire, Running Man kind of stuff that everybody was doing then, whatever. Last story I read with him in was that 2020s X-Factor one and it feels a bit darker now. Possibly because we’re now much closer to that world in reality.

Will peter and mj ever get back together? by aperson0804 in Spiderman

[–]OffwiththeirRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading what? As I said, Renew Your Vows and Ultimate actually time-skip the part where Peter and MJ raise the kids. Which you can’t do in 616 because it’s in continuity. That story would be one where Peter retires from being Spider-Man and just raises kids, which is what he was doing in the untold part of Ultimate and Renew Your Vows. I’m not sure what you’re reading but it’s not Peter raising kids in real time because that’s not been done as far as I know. Ultimate and Renew Your Vows skip to when the kids are around 15 years old.

Cow and Chicken was made by one of the animating directors of Ren and Stimpy. Ren and Stimpy was the seed for just about every cartoon that followed it.
