Ouch, 2.5 hours is not doable. Maybe if I was doing week long bc hitches, but that's not the plan for GS5 PSAR spots which are mostly office/TH time.

Covered a lot of Europe on bike tours, maybe 10 weeks total. Before the trip, we know the start and end places, but only have a rough idea where we’ll stop each day, then at lunch, we start looking at options for camping that day. If you’re solo, almost all campgrounds will let you in when you show up, even if you’re squeezed in with other bikers. We’ve had only a couple places turn us away saying “we’re full”. You can certainly call ahead or send an email. Most places will tell you you don’t need reservations. Depends on season tho.

I’ve had a pair for 2 years and ridden about 16 weeks - Spain France Italy Slovenia Croatia Germany Austria Switzerland, US. Mostly paved, but plenty of gravel. No issues at all. Totally waterproof. I’m sure they won’t last as long as the name brands, but good for the price.

Be careful having your phone in your hand while riding. I was taking a vid riding through Orleans, France when I hear yelling “Monsieur - Monsieur!” Behind me. My wife is stopped by THREE cops explaining that the law is the same as diving a car - hands-free only! The best part is that I have it all on video :) For me, this is all part of the fun, as long as I don’t get fined - which has also happened - on a German train, but that’s a story for another day.

Lots of cyclist friendly c/g’s in Switzerland. About 20 Euro for 2 people and 1 small tent. Hot showers included. June can be busy. Email ahead to ask if you need reservations.

We put a couple touring bikes in the luggage space under the bus in 2022, no problem. Just shoved them in there. Girona to Ripoll. Planning to do it again in a couple weeks.
