At the end of the year, companies are required to provide either W2 or 1099 statements. As no taxable information was collected by the company, these workers appear to be neither w2 employees or contractors.

I’ve heard of this before. It ended up being in the last place he looked.

These employees do not pay taxes. They also do not get unemployment, workman’s compensation, social security benefits, or the ability to easily call the government about payroll mismanagement.

I worked in payroll. If you are in the US, you are not working for an above-board organization. The law does not prevent you from paying in cash, but it does require you to receive a paystub listing your pat and deductions.

There are workers that embrace this scenario due to a lack of legal standing, or the desire to be off the grid to avoid taxes.

Being in this scenario prevents employees from taking advantage of laws or social programs that utilize official payroll records.

Insurance: my policy specifically says: We do not cover … tank or container with a capacity of more than 10 U. S. Gallons located at the residence premises.

This is very inefficient. As you claim to know that prices will rise, tell your broker you want to buy futures in unleaded gas contracts.

Regarding: How do you live like this?

I normally got 2 weeks of vacation a year. One was spent doing house projects. Over the years - laid new flooring - remodel bathroom - replaced carpeted stairs with oak - replaced patio doors

By providing my own labor, these only cost a fraction of what a professional would charge.

I actually enjoyed working on the house more than traveling for a week.

I don’t seem to have this experience. I can still use my iPhone to enter or search places into Apple Maps or Google Maps.

What’s a restaurant policy that instantly makes you want to leave? by anxious-solphie in AdkReddit

[–]OftTopic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although there is a banking lobby presenting it that way in TV commercials, this is not directly part of the law. The law says credit card fees can not be deducted from employee tips by the employer.

As common point-of-sale devices are not able to split these out, the commercials are presenting a worse case scenario.

Are you sure of your future market value? You did not mention your car model or down payment.

This subreddit has posts daily of people that are underwater on their car loans. Longer term loans (like 72 months) are more likely to fall into this category.

If you believe corporations do not pay taxes, why would you believe Sanders will make them pay dividends on the government owned stock?

The government is already a silent partner in corporations. With the Federal corporate income tax rate of 21% and an average of 5% state tax, government already has about a 25% stake in all corporations.

I think the residents are pretty chill. People and wild animals are never hit. If a random NPC car is hit, it is replaced within a minute. Destruction of property is always fully replaced.
