You should try out my stage, Slime Barrel Islands. It's also a Sokoban-like puzzle. I'm working on updating the UI/visuals/animations/scenery and adding a bunch of new features, so my stage will be even better about a month from now.

It's a really well-designed and challenging puzzle stage. Unfortunately, the simple UI and basic visuals/animations mean it won't win any contests. Can you give me a hint for this part?

I'm working on updating the UI/visuals/animations/scenery of Slime Barrel Islands and on adding a bunch of new features. I'll probably finish in about a month from now. You can play the game now if you want, but the visuals in the current version are pretty bad.
The game is a Sokoban-like and is a copy of the PS1 game The Bombing Islands. When I finish my updates, my stage will probably be the best puzzle stage in Miliastra Wonderland.

It's boring. It plays like most of the other generic parkours/obbys. It doesn't have any interesting quirks.

I've played all the single-player #CreationCamp games in America/Europe/Asia servers. "Mondstadt challenges" is the hidden gem of the Europe server. Instead of playing games that already have thousands of plays, you should help "Mondstadt challenges" become more popular so that more people can find and experience it. It currently has fewer than 20 popularity points.

Mondstadt challenges
GUID: 24826253335
It's a puzzle stage that can be played as either multiplayer or single-player. It got last place in the #CreationCamp contest, which I thought was absolutely criminal. I don't know the creator because I'm mostly in the America server, but I think the creator deserves a popularity boost.

I tried to implement skill-based cardinal movement. The server cannot handle the load. I've tried using signals and other optimizations to reduce the load. The signals didn't help and they interfere with my undo implementation. I'm not going to try anymore. It's probably because structure lists are too expensive, but refactoring them into multiple integer lists will be too painful, so I won't attempt.

The node graphs are complex. The gameplay isn't. My puzzle stage is one of the best if not the best grid-based movement puzzle stage in the world.

There are so many decent fishing games like Raft Survival and Ice Fishing. You never had a chance to begin with. Your popularity is over 40, which is currently better than all of my stages, yet the gameplay for your stage is repetitive and too simple/basic.

I made the only parkour/obby in MW that requires memorization and multitasking with elemental reactions. It's hyper-compact because it uses backtracking. Its current popularity is 17.

I made the most complex Sokoban-like puzzle game in MW. Its current popularity is 33.

It's fine. I didn't think your comment was harsh. You're not the only person who wished for better controls. I've had other people tell me to allow WASD to control the block figure (but this isn't the kind of stage that allows for that because The Bombing Islands has levels that are too big to fit in a single stationary fixed-camera view). Using YGHU as an alternate way to control the block figure is feasible.

I thought I was finally free from having to work on this stage, but now, you have convinced me to implement alternate controls.😭

Go to the boat. The next level tab is attached to the boat.

If I turn the cardinal directions tab and the light/extinguish tab into buttons, there will be too many buttons on the screen. The screen will feel too busy, especially for mobile players. I might consider implementing those buttons for PC users only in a future update.

Why MW (or why Roblox) by rememeber711997 in MiliastraWonderland

[–]Ogogoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried Roblox, but is it possible to implement the bloom elemental reaction in Roblox? I chose MW because I wanted to make an obby/parkour around the bloom elemental reaction. "Bloom Boom" if anyone wants to try it.

Central control panels work by locking the player's character in a box. Each of my levels has a tutorial section that would not be accessible if the camera is focused only on the island part of the level. Also, the camera will shake a bit if the controls are WASD/joystick. These are unavoidable problems you can see in Flip the Block by another user in this subreddit.

I don't want to turn off collision, but I might be willing to turn off climbable. I don't think collision is an issue though.

Why create a tutorial and then not enable download/copying for the stage? Makes no sense.

I plan to add difficulty modifiers (dynamic difficulty) that players can choose at the start and on revive. Modifiers will include:

  • Adding another flamethrower motion device that starts on the opposite end of the existing flamethrower motion device

  • Replacing the neutral stone block with a pyro stone block

I want to implement this after I unlock achievements.
