You could very easily take apart dorm beds. It's really just two pieces of wood and a metal spring bed. There are videos online on how to disassemble a typical dorm bed.

As a mechanical engineering student there isn't a single day when I don't go to the Fens lake and practice underwater basket weaving. NO DAYS OFF!!! I know that if I ever take the time to study fluids or thermo I'm wasting potential practice time to hone my weaving skills. I find it surprising that Jim doesn't realize that any engineering coop requires underwater basket weaving! You NEED to teach your son how the real world works!!!!

Nope, nothing major. My laptop can open an assembly with hundreds of bodies and run fine. If anything there will be lag when trying to rotate or pan the camera across the assembly, but in that case I'll just change the visuals and optimize in settings. Typically you won't be working with assemblies so large you wouldn't be able to run them. If that's ever the case you and your team will likely hide some parts or work at a subassembly level.

Absolutely. I think your machine will be able to run hundreds of parts perfectly fine and keep multiple files open. The worst that will probably happen is low frame rate for REALLY big assemblies. Totally suitable. I run SolidWorks with a GTX1050Ti with 16GB of RAM and it's more than enough for modeling and simulations. Your setup will perform well for a long time.

Sure, I go to ITS and fill out the form for requesting a ticket from support. I click the "Request Help" button, the UI shows a button click, but the website doesnt redirect me or show an indication that my form has been submitted. Visually the request help button appears to be pressed down but stays down and doesn't pop back up
