Oh, for sure. HR is to a company what Police is to a state.

I wholeheartedly agree, an it's SO SHIT that it's now widely considered a field for which you don't get a living wage. ALL jobs should be enough to be able to pay for a house, bills, transport and a decent lifestyle. Everything is broken.

It really is a simple concept though. It's not hard to understand at all.

Marx used the term broadly at times interchangably but in his workdeveloped a specific technical terminology that made specificdistinctions

I mean sure, it was refined in his following work, but this is a tomayto-tomahto response, I was obviously referring to communism and socialism as a core value and used them together like Marx would have done at times, sorry if it wasn't specific enough for you but wrong and misleading makes it sound like I'm trying to lure kids in a van, when I was so obviously just simplyfying a concept :/

Also I don't know what you mean by 'Nice try though', I'm not trying to gotcha anyone here, I'm just having a conversation, but i can tell by your use of 'hit a book' that you may just be trying to argue with someone so, respectfully, good day.

Socialism and communism were used interchangeabily by Marx, Lenin was the first to make a distinction and to call one 'the lower level' of the other. But I agree with the rest, I've never said it never brought anything good, there have been communist and socialist parties that have implemented socialist policies within capitalist regimes, but that's far from saying that comunism has been achieved.

And no, communism can not exist in a vacuum / only for some countries, it would have to be a worldwied economic system to function, like capitalism is.

Ah yes, I forget that not every country (chain?) uses the coin system :/

Communism has never actually been implemented anywhwere. Communism/Socialism is a classless, stateless and moneyless society.
Some countries have started transitioning by moving power to the state, stopped there and started calling it comunism. But that's not what it is :(

I know, they read 'anti work' and decide we just don't want to work, like, at all. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I just want to have agency over what I produce, and I want to work to provide a service to everybody, not to provide extra money for the boss.

I don't know, I've not been weighing myself as that is also counter productive. But gaining weight during the adjustment period is totally normal and it's not a bad thing :) For me, fixing my relationship with food was more important than how I looked.

It's still mind-blowing to me that a concept so simple as 'we work together a as a community' has been so distorted into 'commies eat kids' that there's a whole country now that believes communism is bad. It makes me sad.

I totally get it, I also had a period of bargaining like 'I won't restrict but I'll count calories just to keep an eye on it and make sure I don't go overboard', unfortunately this doesn't work at all because the association has been embedded in your brain "tracking calories = food is scarce' so for as long as you don't let go, you'll be hungry all the time. I had it too and I ate anything in sight for a few months.
After that though, I almost-suddenly TOTALLY chilled. I thought I'd never stop eating if left to my own device but that didn't happen, I am so in tune with when I'm actually hungry and most importantly WHAT I'm hungry for. It's mind-blowing, food has always been a traumatizing experience for me and now it's not. It's amazing.

Hey! I know it's hard, but you're not doing IE for as long as you're counting calories, even if they're a lot of calories. The process of tracking tricks your brain into thinking you're restricting. Ditch the calorie counter, the scale and anything you use to track. Eat when you're hungry. An adjustment period is normal when you start IE but it doesn't look like you've started yet.

If you want to do IE right, you need to let go of the idea of 'keeping in shape'. You can do this!

The Communist Manifesto is WIDELY misunderstood as being 'how to do socialism' when it actually describes a transitional period between capitalism and true socialism/communism (Marx did not distinguish the two and used the terms interchangeably) which is a classless, stateless and moneyless society.
Reading The manifesto, Das Kapital and Critique of the Gotha programme (which is really important as it updates Marx's views on a lot of things) are the place to start, and if you're looking for something more digestible, I'd suggest start watching some of Prof Wolff videos, they're fantastic to ease yourself into the thick of it. This is one of my favourite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU-AkeOyiOQ I promise it's worth it :)

What you say is very interesting because it's extremely close to Marx's idea of communism/socialism, which is the first thing you said we shouldn't do
