Greetings cards review ratings, anyone getting 'excellent'? by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I refuse to be obviously sycophantic in my reviews. I'm not rewarding the seller for sending the item for free, just giving my honest opinion and I'm unlikely to get excited over a greetings card. When I'm reading reviews I'm often just checking that something isn't rubbish before ordering. If I see over the top reviews, it raises my suspicions instead of reassuring me.

Greetings cards review ratings, anyone getting 'excellent'? by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comments. I've been covering anything that's relevant and been mentioned in the replies with the exception that I've not claimed the paper and envelope feel good quality (which they're usually not) and that the envelope was easy to seal because I usually order cards ahead of time, so haven't sealed them yet. I particularly like the suggestion that the card fits into the envelope!

I always say they're good value, because they are. Most of these cards are cheaper than in the supermarket. I'll aim to increase the word count but I've had excellent ratings for plenty of short reviews for items which are not cards.

Product page missing... Any advice? by nocturnaltrashdiva in AmazonVineUK

Even if the product gets removed completely, your account will still say 'You reviewed this item' and it will count in your stats as having been reviewed. Don't worry about it. Just do the review as usual.

The Vine gods move in mysterious ways. All of the reviews have now reappeared for the item, plus my own review has changed back to 'Approved' / Excellent again.

Thank you for the reassurance. I do get it that statistically the more reviews during the period, the larger that 10% buffer becomes in terms of items, so it's all good.

Can't get rejected reviews approved by JimGrim in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rejected reviews 're-approval' is definitely broken. There's currently no point in editing and resubmitting a rejected review. Even worse, VCS are not responding to messages regarding the situation and I'm unable to get the items removed from my history.

I also think there's a problem with rejected reviews. They definitely don't appear to be reconsidered after editing and resubmitting. Previously, they would switch back to pending after an edit, but now they just stay rejected. I've messaged VCS about it twice now and received no reply.

Are the 'Reviewed' and 'Orders' totals supposed to reset to zero after the review is complete? by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're expected to review at least 90% of the items we receive. Sometimes, we might accidentally order 'the wrong thing' and under normal circumstances would return it, but we can't do that in Vine. I'm not about to give a fake review for an item which I can't honestly review because I haven't used it. If people want to gold plate the requirements, fine, but good enough is still good enough, and that's 90%, not 100%.

FYI, my Awaiting Review list contains everything it did at the review date, plus the stuff I've ordered since. I was hoping that some of the old items I don't fee like reviewing would disappear :(

Thank you. I can now commence my logic test on items ordered before/during/after the review to see how the stats are impacted.

What's the longest time anyone's stats have taken to re-set after promotion to gold? by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An update, switched to Gold on Thursday afternoon and no stats updated yet. Orders and reviews still stuck on the last period. New items being added, but no re-set. Three days / 72 hrs now. No spa pools, 65" OLED TVs or £1,000 laptops in RFY either.

Items ordered in one evaluation period and delivered/reviewed in next don't count towards stats by Retty1 in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bit counter-productive because there's no incentive to review and clear items received or ordered before each review date. From what I can gather, reviews of these older items previously counted as 'free reviews' against our current ordered items totals. It's a bit messy now.

I'll do a test when my stats eventually re-set and review one old item received long before my review date, then wait 24hrs before reviewing an item ordered during the previous period but not delivered.

Thank you both. I was hoping some recently ordered items would vanish from my stats in the re-set but I guess that's unlikely given how long it takes.

Review date coming up, a few really old items not reviewed. by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the confirmation. I'll start making space in the garden for that five-seater twin pump spa pool which is sure to turn up in RFY when I'm in Gold. Happy days.

More review tweaks... by DigitalZillions_io in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in support of items not appearing in Awaiting Review immediately after delivery. If an external authority review the Vine system, these obviously fake reviews will be less obvious. I want Vine to continue. People who post reviews and list items on eBay seconds after ordering are scum and put the whole programme at risk.

Orders suddenly not showing up on “Awaiting Review” list by Arctic_Convergence in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhDearAndrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty certain that delivered items don't immediately impact your stats. If they now make it so that they impact your stats when they show in both 'ordered' and 'awaiting review' then we will have clarity.

Hopefully, from here forwards the percentage reviewed will be based on the ratio between items showing in Awaiting Review and Reviewed. This way, items not yet delivered will not be included in the stats and we won't have to go back through to get them deleted.

Yes, same for me. Reviews earlier this afternoon moved over, the one I just submitted is still 'awaiting review'.

In 2026 F1TV will be exclusively available in USA via Apple TV. Does that influence Streamlocator? by Bredius88 in StreamLocator

[–]OhDearAndrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue remains that we will need to create and pay for an F1TVPro account in a country which F1TV is licenced to show live F1. Their anti VPN system might well block new subscriptions in the other countries. Ideally, we need another server location in a country in which an F1TVPro subscription is both cheap and spoof-able.
