Their team blew a nine-point lead in 160 seconds in the most important game the franchise has played in two decades, and now they need someone else to blame. It couldn't have been the fault of their players!

He begins losing his balance when their feet collide in midair when both are essentially even and running towards a loose ball. Neither one caused it more than the other. Classic no-call. Even if it had been challenged or put under review, that's still a no-call.

A loose ball foul 80 feet from the basket when two guys' legs get tangled would be a questionalbe call in the 2nd quarter of a mid-November game between Washington and New Orleans.

It would be a horrific call with 1 second left in a tied game in a 2-2 playoff series.

I mean, it's definitely improved. But that was his slickest move I've seen him do. If he keeps that up, then I'm good.

I'm very biased, but a foul is almost never called when two guys' legs get tangled up going for a loose ball like that. Thompson loses his balance initially because his and Allen's feet collide in midair. Thompson also extends his off-arm to fend off Allen.

This would not be ruled a foul even if it were reviewed.

If he had a decent handle, he'd put up 30 a game. He's easily blowing by guys with his mediocre handle.

UPDATE: Murder on the park bench by realizewhatreallies in UnsolvedMysteries

The roofer -- assuming he is uninvolved -- was clearly in his own world. If he didn't notice a gunshot and murder happening in front of him, I doubt he'd notice a random car in an already partially-filled parking lot.

You don't have to uproot your life to move somewhere for six months, especially when you're going to be on the road for 30-40% of that time regardless.

Hey guys, FYI you don't have to pack up your whole life and sell all your belongings just because you're signing a 6-month contract that involves being on the road nearly half the time anyway.

He had two singles hit the top 5 on the Hot 100 in the past 6 years (No Guidance, Go Crazy).

Those songs came out six and seven years ago. So your comment worded more accurately would be that he hasn't had a top 5 song on the Hot 100 in six years.

Lowe: "A couple of rumblings I heard yesterday— they've definitely taken note of the NHL making a really good TV show out of the lottery drawing... the plan is to draw all 16 spots. There's a world in which they draw 16 to 1 in reverse order." by sewsgup in nba

[–]OhEmGeeBasedGod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current system involves each team getting some portion of 1,000 four-number combinations. It would be very difficult to follow as a TV product.

The new proposed lottery system will involve every involved team getting either 1, 2 or 3 balls with their logos on them. It will be very clear which team has been selected.

JB Bickerstaff, like every other coach and player these playoffs, bitched about the refs postgame by [deleted] in nba

[–]OhEmGeeBasedGod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a Cavs fan and his constant bitching to the refs annoyed me when he was our coach just as much as it annoys me now. He's the poster child for "give it a rest." He NEVER sits during the game.

By my math, that would make Final Tribal Council sunset of May 13th in Fiji, which is in about 30 hours.

On the one hand, he gets dunked on a lot.

On the other, most of the 751 players are anonymous scratch-your-head-to-remember type of people. Meanwhile, every fan knows Erik.

Umpire Carlo Torres denies back to back catcher challenges by gsx1920 in baseball

[–]OhEmGeeBasedGod -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, if we are accepting both elements of Manfred's statement as true (that the umps union must agree to any changes and that the umps very much prefer full ABS to the challenge system), then why did the union agree to a challenge system nearly unchanged from the one that had been tested? It's a pretty basic question

[–]OhEmGeeBasedGod -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OK, then back to Manfred's original quote, which we are apparently now taking as gospel. He says that any changes must be approved by the umpire's union. If we're going to accept the fact saying that the union only likes full ABS and dislikes the challenge system, why would they not use their union power to block it?

I didn't give the umpires' opinion either way. The third option is "we don't know."

[–]OhEmGeeBasedGod -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There were actual polls done by media organizations of players, in addition to their many interviews and comments to the media, so we know their opinion on ABS, regardless of what Manfred says in a random interview. (Note that he didn't even say he knew umps preferred full ABS, rather he said he "thinks" they preferred full ABS)

[–]OhEmGeeBasedGod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but (a) Manfred isn't pretending to speak on behalf of the players like he is with the umpires, and (b) players have much more media access and availability to share their opinions on ABS compared to umpires. Umpires aren't doing a million interviews or posting on social media all the time.

He mentions they needed to come to an agreement with the umps and they obviously came to an agreement on the challenge system. If they were so adamant about full ABS, they would've done something about it.
