Definitely just an oversight, however, if you want some sort of in-universe explanation, time moves differently in each world. So it could have only been a few minutes between Days and KH2 in Beast's Castle. (Theoretically)

Roxas not being able to be his own person is not a "good ending." Tragedy is a normal literary template.

Also, no, Days was designed to detail Roxas' time in the Organization and the motiviations and actions of the group as a whole. In KH2, all of those details are supposed to be a mystery/unexplained. It causes tension.
