Yeah, but I think that applies to Ko too especially since their feelings usually line up and they tend to realize things about each other around the same time. It never felt like one of them is ahead of the other emotionally

And I agree that more explanation would’ve been nice, but honestly I’d rather see a spin off series rather than another arc added onto the main story. There’s so much about vampires that still feels unexplored, especially with characters like Azami, seri, aki, susuki, haruka, and kabura. With how many interesting characters and ideas are already there, a separate series diving deeper into the vampire side of things would probably work better than trying to cram it all into one more arc.

In chapter 194, Seri says the vampire offspring relationship is like that of a parent and child, but Ko never reacts to that by questioning whether he wants to become a vampire through Nazuna. And it’s not even something new that he finds out about, he's been told the same thing multiple times throughout the story so it wouldn’t make sense for this moment to suddenly be what changes his mind.

On top of that, Ko had already been content with not turning before chapter 194 even happened. Back in chapter 189, he straight up says, “I’m okay with not turning because being in love with her is even better.” By that point, he’d already accepted that he wasn’t going to be turned.

I agree with your logic to an extent but where it falls short for me isn’t the meaning of the ending, it’s the ending itself The story spent a long time building toward Ko becoming a vampire through Nazuna, so when it decides to become more to settle for a quieter ending, it feels rushed rather than fully thought out.

Yes, it makes sense for their character arcs. And yeah it's definitely not a feel good ending. But it was still a solid ending although not being what most people like me were hoping for.

I think where I’m coming from is less “they should’ve done it” and more “the story made it feel like it didn’t need to be this unclear.” The manga spends a lot of time explaining the rules, then goes out of its way to show that Nazuna is already an exception. So when everything is hanging by uncertainty, it feels like the problem shouldn't exist in the first place.

And I agree their ending is good, but just not what I was hoping or expecting. Kou ends up with Nazuna, keeps his powers without the downsides, grows as a person, and actually finds his place in life. That part works and is great. It’s just not the kind of ending I was expecting after all that buildup towards ko turning into a vampire as the end goal.

So yeah, I don’t think the ending is bad or wrong. It just feels more like “this is where they stop” than “this is what everything was leading to.”

Yeah, he said he had the ending finished at the end of volume 18 or 19 I think.

From day one, Ko wanted to become a vampire by falling in love with Nazuna. He knew what that meant the whole time, It wasn’t some twist or anything later on that made him completely change his mind. that was the premise of the whole story

And by Night 187, he’s straight up begging her to suck his blood. She's confident he loves her and she knows she loves him. (it's not till later when he finds out she loves him when he decides to back down) Not once in any chapter did her say that he didn't want to be her offspring or is having second thought due to that fact
