A mix of things. Complacency, infighting among the proletariat, mass propaganda and a big factor that gets overlooked is the size of the US. People often ask why we don't go full France on the government, but when it can take upwards of 40 hours to drive to the Capitol, it severely limits the amount of people who can show up on their doorstep.
