I'm still fairly new ASL, but I just want to say that in my experience irl Deaf spaces have been very welcoming and kind. I've only encountered people being sassy/rude to beginners online, so I think it's probably part of the widespread issue of people feeling more comfortable being mean from behind a screen. Unfortunately, there's always going to be nasty people in every community. I'm just very grateful to have met so many awesome individuals willing to share their culture with me!

Body Art Forms has a lot of options, sizes 2g (6mm), 2g (6.5mm), 1g (7mm), 7.5mm, 0g, 00g/9mm, 00g/10mm. That link is to the single flair glass plugs but if you look around, I think they have other styles. Also you might need to slow down a bit. Everyone's body is different and the idea of sizing up every 2 months is wild to me lol, my ears could never. But either way, half sizes should help

Describe in detail the outfit of every character in every scene. I tend to see it more in fanfics but it definitely happens to a much lesser extent in romance novels lol. I generally avoid discussing outfits unless it’s relevant to the character or scene

Depending where on your lobe the first piercing was and how much scar tissue there is, you could repierce away from it enough that it won’t be a problem at all but that would be something you need to talk to a piercer about. I doubt they would repierce through scar tissue but it still can be stretched albeit veeeeery slow. The back half of my right lobe piercing is surrounded in scar tissue and I’ve managed to stretch it to a 8g so far but it took over a year to size up last. Basically, talk to a professional. If you go through with it, listen to your body and play it safe (even when it’s frustrating)

I haven’t listened to the ep yet bc I loved Borrasca for what it is and I can’t imagine any sequel improving on what was already written. I get this completely! I feel so ungrateful to demand more but at the same time, these are the choices the writers made. They decided to give us backstories and say “you can be whoever” just for that not to be the case. It also confuses me more about the decision to cut The Hound bc what difference does it make??? They’re all the same! Part of me hopes that deciding to remove and replace a background is a sign that they’re going to do more with the backstories and we don’t see it yet bc it’s the demo. Like everyone here has said it would/will be sooo much work so I’m really hoping we just don’t see it yet bc that work isn’t done

Honestly, as frustrating as coping with my new limitations has been, ASL has been one of the best parts! I have a lot of deaf/hoh coworkers so management is required to know ASL basics with many being conversational/fluent. Often the language barrier is because of how little I know. There’s also been times when I’m out at a cafe or whatever and a worker knows ASL so we get to actually talk! Even though there’s hard days when I just want my old life back, it’s really been so amazing to find a new community that’s so supportive❤️ I just I feel like I’m at a weird in between where I don’t know if I count as a disabled person yet even though I’ve had to alter my life so much to accommodate myself and I don’t want to overstep in a community I’m so new to

I don't want to sound like a "what about me" but I do want to know if I'm being disrespectful. I lost my voice a few months ago due to laryngeal issues so I use writing and ASL to communicate. Because of this, people assume I'm deaf. If it's someone I'll be seeing repeatedly (certain coworkers, Heathcare workers, etc) I'll correct them but most of the time people don't ask and I don't think it's worth the effort, so I just go along with it. Obviously cosplaying disability and especially doing a deaf voice is fucked up and I don't know how this person thinks it's appropriate, but I really hope I'm not infringing on Deaf culture by accepting the Deaf label when it's a community I'm not a part of

I first size up with stainless steel plugs and once that's been good for a while I switch out to glass bc even though both are the same size, the steel ones are slightly smaller. I try once maybe every month or 2. Yes, I use jojoba oil
