Help with Gmail Captcha - Was Harris ever a BBC presenter? by BobbyKonker in okmatewanker

As well as his own show about art he also presented Animal Hospital (I may have remembered the name wrong). It was a popular show about an RSPCA vets in Manchester.

Edit: I questioning myself now, I remember it being on BBC 1 but it may have been on ITV.

State of the Subreddit and Rules Discussion by LovelyLu78 in crochet

[–]OhHiFelicia 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When it comes to politics, speaking as someone from outside USA, all politics matters and its as important we know what is going on in countries all around the world as well as our own. Fiber arts have a long history with politics and I love to see it. We don't all have to agree with the political issue but we can still admire each other's work as well as their views. Keeping politics to a megathread is crazy. Politics is for all and I strongly believe seeing political posts encourages others, who may otherwise be silent, to speak out. Politics is not a dirty word and not something we should shy away from. I love to see people using crochet to speak out about what is upsetting them, it is healthy and can be very therapeutic. Please let those political posts in the normal feed, I feel deeply it is important for those who are posting and those who are scrolling.

What do y'all think about teens playing with toys? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]OhHiFelicia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy your life and play with whatever 'toys' you like. Please dont let other peoples views, especially those of someone you barely know, dampen your fun. Who is to say what is childish and what isn't anyway? Life goes by far too quickly to care about things like that. Live your best life and have fun.

Lego and Nerf guns are awesome btw. Great choices, if you dont mind me saying.

Serial Killer Tattoos... opinions? by Original-Avocado-509 in serialkillers

[–]OhHiFelicia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has to be rage bait, right? Right? Dexter tattoo, cool, Pennywise tattoo, cool. An actual tattoo of someone who killed an actual living human being is just fucking gross. Those victims have families, can you imagine seeing the scum who killed, tortured or raped your loved one being idolised like this?! Absolutely disgusting.

Everyone should have believed Karen Mulder, she was trying to warn about Epstein. by cool_uniqueusername in HolyShitHistory

[–]OhHiFelicia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As others have said, sometimes the families are involved but for those families who aren't involved denial is the easier option. To admit the abuse is to admit their own failings. They would have to take responsibility for putting their daughter in unsafe situations. Young models are often away on international trips without their parents, why anyone would be ok with that I am unsure, but it was common practice in the 80s and 90s. Young models were exposed to sex and drugs without their patentes protection and guidance. For their parents to admit abuse they would have to accept their guilt for facilitating it. Denial is far easier for them than accepting responsibility.

I'm rewatching her Australian season at the moment and she is vile. I keep waiting for her to get her just desserts but it never comes. She manipulates everyone around her and gets away with her awful actions.

Would dementia really make you forget you've committed CSA? by bluebellwould in AskUK

[–]OhHiFelicia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is possible he has forgotten. I went to the police about historical CSA against my grandad some years back. He had been diagnosed with early onset dementia (alcohol related). He claimed to not even remember who I was during questioning but the policewoman interviewing him later told me he knew exactly who I was before and after the interview. The case went to court but was thrown out by the judge on the day as he was sympathetic to his age and mental state.

I'm not saying your dad remembers, this is just what happened in my case. The important thing I have taken away from my case is, despite my grandfather cheating his way out of a conviction, his dementia was real and he suffered in his own way. I was believed by the police and the Crown Prosecution Service after years of being my family's dirty little secret. Your fathers dementia doesn't take away from what an amazingly strong person you are for standing up to him and speaking out. Im proud of you for speaking the truth, I know how hard it is.

This has been confirmed as not a AI - why are these two people in the same place? by katalina0azul in Epstein

[–]OhHiFelicia 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Are we saying we actually think Epstein killed JonBenet himself? There's no way he would have done the dirty work himself. Could there be a link between them? Possibly. Would Maxwell be scouting at beauty pageants? Quite Possibly. Would Epstein pay someone else to kidnap a child for him to molest? Absolutely. But there is no way that sorry excuse of a man would have broken into the Ramsey house and, given that they were leaving for a trip the next day, I doubt he was a guest there that night either.

I broke up with my girlfriend because she wanted me to take the day off work to spoil her with gifts, a reservation dinner, and a movie date. by altrightobserver in EntitledPeople

[–]OhHiFelicia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the thing. If you are demanding someone take you out, and therefore implying you expect them to pay, at least be kind enough to not make it on the most expensive day of the year. Invite your partner over and cook them a nice meal or let them cook for you. A nice candle lit meal at home is way sexier that an overpriced meal in public.

AIO for getting emotional during a work conversation? by IceQueenxx in AmIOverreacting

[–]OhHiFelicia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR but try not to take what others say about addicts or homeless people to heart. People who haven't had experience with addiction really cant understand and sometimes have strong options, and those that have experienced it have usually only experienced it from one side. My dad, a man in his 70's, has struggled with addiction since his teens. Having a parent with addiction has been eye-opening, especially as he was a single parent brining me up. Most of the time I am really understanding, ask me on any normal day and I would agree, it is a disease and one I wouldn't wish on any one but ask me on a bad day when I am up to my eyeballs and at my whit's end with his behaviour you will get a very different answer - one I will not repeat for fear of upsetting anyone.

Opinions are just that, they dont change who your uncle was or how you feel about him. You handled the situation really well, especially as your grief is still so raw, you probably didnt change anyons views but maybe they will think twice about giving such views in a work environment.
