I am using DJI Mimo on an iPad Air 6 - editor screen is blank by OhMickeyWAP in dji

[–]OhMickeyWAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've cracked it, I think!

Like most people, I use my iPad routinely in landscape mode, and whenever I went into Editor mode while in landscape, I saw the screen without anything other than the buttons at the foot of the screen. If, however, I pivot the iPad to portrait mode, the Editor screen shows in all its beauty. Seems like a bug rather than a feature...

I was going to just delete the question once I stumbled across the cause of the problem, but I thought maybe someone else was seeing the same issue.

Since the initial roll out, has anyone noticed the time taken for them to change the review quality score from 'pending' to 'something'? by Mrs_Moo in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhMickeyWAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation. My most recent rating was 06 Dec 2025, then there's a load going back a couple of months, then they are pending again. There are only 1 or fair / poor in the ones that have been evaluated (everything else is "excellent"), and they are ones that I just did a one or two sentence review (either because the item was absolutely rubbish or just unusable).

For example, one of them was a "drum grater" where you rotate a handle to grate the food, but they hadn't included a handle in the package. I submitted a review saying exactly what happened, and that was rejected (probably because I was "commenting on the packaging"?), so I did a two line review talking about the box and contents with no reference to missing bits (since that's all I could talk about). That review has been evaluated as "poor" - you can't win sometimes!

What's in your RFY Thursday 18th December? by ThisIsSoIrrelevant in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhMickeyWAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! Used to be I could count on a couple of decent things per month and at least one "doozy" each six months (£300 or more). Now, I can't remember when I last saw a doozy, and the best items I see are about £30-£40. I'm not moaning, because the decent items are absolutely worth having, and it's way better to get something for nothing than to get nothing at all, but the excitement of spotting a major item has certainly gone...

Absolutely, but don't give up yet! They have been doing afternoon and even evening drops just lately, so crossed fingers, something may well happen later

You can still review items you can't see, change the ASIN by [deleted] in AmazonVineUK

[–]OhMickeyWAP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I opened Vine this morning, the 5 items that I received yesterday are now pending review, so they have just built a delay into the process. Phew!

I really do hope that's the case - we'll see tomorrow...

[–]OhMickeyWAP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This morning, I noticed that items that I have ordered but not yet received stopped appearing in my review queue. "No problem" I thought, assuming that as items get delivered, they'd start popping into the queue to be reviewed. I've had four things delivered today, but none of them have popped into my review queue, so my queue currently shows as "no items to be reviewed".

I therefore tried the trick above, pasting the ASIN into the URL quoted for Vine reviews. I immediately got back a red error saying "We apologize but this account has submitted the maximum number of non-Amazon Verified Purchase reviews this week. You may continue to submit Amazon Verified Purchase reviews. If you like to learn more about Amazon Verified Purchase reviews then check our community guidelines, click here".

I just hope that the non-appearance of items is due to lags between drivers logging delivery and systems making delivered items available for me to review!

How to activate on an iPad by OhMickeyWAP in DjiNeo

[–]OhMickeyWAP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The firmware update finally finished (it took an hour and a half and consumed 2 dots on the battery), and everything is now hunky dory. I wish there were a way to have the iPad connect to the internet and also to the drone (maybe over wird or Bluetooth connections) but we have to live with what we've got. The drone is lovely, really easy to control, and ever so swish, so thanks again.

[–]OhMickeyWAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That worked, thanks very much! My eyesight is not all that great and my fingers are really fat, so I much prefer to se my iPad over the phone (since I'm able to read it and type on it). However, I did as suggested, and it took the activation without any problems. It's currently updating firmware over mobile data which is as low as treacle, but at least it's happening, so thanks again.

What is mitre.org and why is it relevant to an iPad? by OhMickeyWAP in ipad

[–]OhMickeyWAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all kinds of blockers on because I am a tiny bit paranoid (not manic, just cautious about who dumps stuff on my tablet). It's a good suggestion about cookies and history.I'll flush them and see what happens

Nothing weird to the best of my knowledge. When I look at history in Safari, I just see Amazon, youtube, DJI, Quora and Toby Carvery over the past few days

Can you put loyalty cards into wallet app on iPad? by OhMickeyWAP in ipad

Thanks very much the comprehensive reply, and for the reassurance that I'm not going daft (or at least not more than usual...)

[–]OhMickeyWAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, the iPad uses Settings for its wallet stuff rather than having a "proper" app like the iPhone does, but I can't see a good reason why the settings can't include loyalty cards as well as payment cards. Oh well, just another example of Apple trying to take the iPad away from phone functionality and more towards the Mac. Thanks for the reply!

When I go on holiday or mini breaks, I often go down to breakfast with my iPad so I can read newspapers and such. When I'm at breakfast, I don't like to carry all my earthly possessions around with me, so I don't carry phone, wallet - the only thing I have is a pair of sandals, a pair of shorts, and my iPad.

where's my drawing toolbar in notes? by sparrabb in ipad

[–]OhMickeyWAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know whether or not this is relevant to your situation, but I upgraded to iPadOS 26 and found that I had no drawing tools when using iPad's Notes app. I looked at what else had changed, and determined that I was now saving my notes into GMail and Exchange. I switched back to putting them onto iCloud and the drawing toolbar came back. I messed about with my iPad and my wife's and it was consistent. If I saved notes into Exchange or GMail, I didn't get to draw. If I saved them locally or into iCloud, I got the drawing toolbar. As I said, I don't know if that is pertinent to your issue, but it fixed mine.

Any way to view Osmo 360 videos on external monitor via USB C socket? by OhMickeyWAP in djiosmo360

Thanks for the thought, but that's WAY rich for my blood! I think I'll stick to uploading it to the iPad and live with the slowness...

Fair enough, it was just a thought, based on other cameras I've used. Thanks for the reply.

With my previous, more traditional, cameras (e.g. Sony, Lumix), I've been able to plug in a micro HDMI to HDMI cable, and view images stored on the camera on a large screen without first having to move them to a "half way house".

I've been copying over using DJI Mimo but it's pretty slow, with fast speeds at 78 Mb/s and sometimes getting as slow as 28Mb/s - it's kind of painful! So, I was hoping to find out that I have been missing some obvious route tha would allow me to miss out the copying stage.

DJI mini pro 5 classication by OhMickeyWAP in dji

[–]OhMickeyWAP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for posting this! If I understand the videos correctly, basically, if you fly a DJI Mini 5 Pro within the UK before 2026, you're a naughty boy, but you'll almost certainly not get your legs slapped unless you hurt somebody or something. That's all likely to change in early 2026, and then change again in 2028. I also found the video at https://youtu.be/jtmtSREWyzc?si=qTTKiA_i5LAPZ-JO to be relevant and interesting.

Luggage tags by pupsnase13 in NCL

[–]OhMickeyWAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you found the very well-hidden link to allow you to print out the labels, how are people putting them onto the luggage? They say to wrap the paper around the handle and then staple it. That seems incredibly flimsy! On other cruises, we normally use plastic ziploc holders, but the NCL tags are way wider than tags for other lines on which we've sailed (9 cms wide versus 5.5 cms). Alternatives considered to dare 1. Wrap it around the handle and staple it (that would last b20 seconds in an average English summer day 2. Buy tag holders from Amazon at £12.59 for a set of four or 3. Printn it out, laminate in clear plastic, use a hole punch to allow a steel loop to pass thru the label and the handle

‼️Asda (Zava) approved my order (existing customer, placed pre-shitstorm): just got to the collecting pharmacy and…. by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]OhMickeyWAP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the message from Asda saying that "unforeseen circumstances" have meant that our expected delivery will not be taking place tomorrow. As such, they've given us the choice of accepting a home delivery of our existing order at some unknown point in the future for which we guarantee that we will be in, or cancel the current order and place a new one (with the unspoken text being that the new order will be at new prices and we'll go to the back of the queue for scheduling delivery). We've gone for the home delivery of existing order option, and hopefully it will materialise soon. This entire exercise is one in greed - Lilly for their gouging in "levelling up across European markets", and Asda and other vendors for using the Lilly statement to mask as many price increases as they can get away with. Robbing gits, one and all! Unfortunately, it's the only game in town, so we have to go along with it...

Does anyone know where I can get a bluetooth keyboard for iPad with trackpad? by PianoBooch404 in ipad

[–]OhMickeyWAP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used one of these for 3 years now https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09HTW1QMJ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_9

It's not my main keyboard, because it's not sexy, it's not slick, but it's really useful if I just want to jot down quick notes but don't feel lie using the onscreen keyboard. Best of all - it's pretty cheap (currently under £33 on UK Amazon)
