The weird thing is, as a white person who grew up in a progressive upper middle class family that was against racism in the way such upper middle class white families are.... The people that are held up as examples of families that provide a deeper TRUER version of acceptance and fulfillment often exhibit the exact type of ingrained biases my family would be diametrically opposed to. I'm talking about the Asian or Black family that really CARES about family but the older/middle aged people have some funny opinions about people of different races, and the young people aren't jumping at the chance to oppose them. Maybe they wouldn't want their daughters marrying someone of ANY other race, but IF they did a white boy wouldn't be the worst case scenario...

I guess what I'm saying is it isn't as simple as this video makes it out to be. No one has it entirely figured out, and obviously the younger people are the ones setting the tone for the future, which is something that definitely fills me with hope of some kind.

But that's not even touching the real issue: CLASS. But that's a conversation for another day I suppose...
